In Vermintide, Sienna was the least played character by a pretty significant degree. She was the weirdest mechanically and her weapons take a while to get use to because of the generally slow projectile speed and odd secondaries. It doesn't surprise me that the psyker has probably the least representation, especially when the beta only has one force staff available.

Sienna is also fragile which is bad when (especially at higher difficulties) you are two or three hits away from death and there are no health pickups and a lot of the game is about the party controlling swarms by forming a line and chain staggering them so that nothing sneaks around the side and hits someone in the back.

If you get good at the game this becomes less of an issue. Also unchained can take a massive amount of damage

Just who the hell do you think we are?

If you're planning on rolling with pubbies, please consider not rolling vet first. 90 percent of people who I matched with were playing vet last beta and almost every run where it was me plus 3 vets went poorly, even if we finished.

That being said play what you enjoy

Vet has Big Elf Energy. Imagine playing with 3 elves.

Four of one parties are all viable on Damnation, it's on the people not the class.

Obviously some of those setups would be harder than others, to be fair.

this sucks, lore wise I definitely wanna be the normie with the flashlight but elf was my least favourite in vt. I was hoping guardsmen would be the all rounder class rather than the ranged specialist.

edit: or an ogryn but that makes sense everyone loves a giant bashy boy

People love the guard and have been waiting years to rp guardsmen in a good video game.

One of my cleanest runs too was all guardsmen, its just that guard is designed to be the entry class for the game appealing to new players and therefore a lot of new people will play guard. Theyre an effective class that works well in good hands.

The deal with Elf was that people thought they could just be ranged only. So Elf players would pull out the bow, get their asses chewed off by Skavenslaves, then rage quit.

In that regard, I can see the Veteran being the new Elf.

Cowcaster

that was certainly part of it but honestly i feel like my more major personal takeaway from elf mains was that they all had, for lack of a better way to describe it, big weeaboo with a mall katana "i studied the blade" energy

That, or they were super try-hards on a quest to collect green circles, typically to the detriment of the people they left in the dust.

They have a really good kit, but they attracted assholes.

Yeah, I actually liked all of the characters as characters, even Kerillian. I switched on the Vermintalks playlist today for a few minutes, and man if the writers, director, and actors didn't put a lot of effort into the game.

Yeah, Kerillian is extremely strong. I like running Shade as a power class and Handmaiden as a Legend/CW class. On my last CW run, I discovered a talent that let me drop items from my inventory on the ground every time I dashed. With my short cooldown and health draughts as my only item, I was able to dash around, pooping healing potions for my team. The only problem is that Waystalker has a low ceiling and Thorn is more open-ended than a lot of other classes.

Super-Duper Supermen!
I just wanted a lasgun and the weapon which most resembled Saltzpyre’s rapier.

The fact that both ended up on the Veteran, a class that I also love aesthetically means I’ll never change.

That’s a lie, I’m definitely gonna be an Ogryn too.

I didn't expect to like the veteran because shootguns seem boring by comparison and I'm one of those grogs who prefers the more punishing melee combat of v1, but it was neat to play a guy who has a clearly defined job that's important for the team. Like Psyker but more for hitting the riflemen and fragile elites.

That said, yeah, too many of them and while I support the thing allowing more than one of a class, veteran is gonna make that a shitshow.

Nah. People are more worried about it being a trap class, like ending up in a VT Champion run with a bad Slayer and a rage-quitting Waystalker.

I played the DT beta and Veteran is fine in melee, but they have the most ranged possibilities of any of the classes, and DT is way more forgiving for ranged combat, and actually encourages it more than VT does. I'm gonna run Veteran because I've wanted to just be a Poor loving Guardsman in a 40K game for the longest time.

There is almost no way veteran turns out to be a trap when it highlights specials (always the thing that actually kills you in these games) and is the most reliable class against ranged enemies (as of darktide, also a thing that kills you).

No, but their talents favor them keeping distance from the enemy in order to get their buffs. Melee is definitely worse for them than range but they're more than capable of chainswording people to death
