Odds are he just flat-out disables Twitter in Europe. There are random American news websites to this day that just geoblock European users instead of dealing with GDPR.

https://twitter.com/verge/status/1592819220991315968 I know tech is going into a slump but even so I have a hard time picturing a lot of people would take this, especially with 3 months severance.

3 months of paid time off, and just in time for the holidays? Sounds like a better deal than continuing to work for this guy. I would say “unless they are in a financially precarious position,” but job security isn’t remotely a thing there anymore anyway, so

Yeah Twitter right now runs on Calvin ball rules so you should take the money. Not even for moral reasons but common sense ones

Hmm 3 months pay or getting fired with no pay or unemployment in a week because a guy with 8 followers told Elon it would be funny. Tough choice…

Also love this quote from this article: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-says-expects-reduce-163849041.html quote:Musk also admitted that some Tesla engineers were assisting in evaluating Twitter's engineering teams, but he said it was on a "voluntary basis" and "after hours." I feel like "voluntary" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence.

Volmarias posted:We're going to see a magnificent outage when Elon doesn't understand something fundamental like edge servers and demands it get cut and the load demands combined with the lack of scaling knock the whole thing over. Twitter's architecture is such that if something happens and it gets knocked offline, there's a very real chance they're not going to be able to turn it back on without significant downtime. Days, at least. It nearly happened earlier this year and it was a miracle the engineers Elon has since fired were able to keep the whole thing running with their emergency fixes. I think it came to light during discovery in the suit to force Elon to pay up, but I can't seem to come up with the right keywords to find the article or posts.
