Malort and Absinthe were both disappointing. They were gross, but not gross enough or weird enough to really live up to their hype.

Nancy loving hates the left too, she's just less outwardly animated about it. Hell even then we still got all the "Green New Dream" stuff and her publicly strongarming AOC into changing her vote on Iron Dome funding for no other reason than to humiliate her. Even if the guy is some unparalleled anti-leftist crusader it doesn't matter anyway, what passes for "the left" in elected American politics - particularly at the federal level - is utterly toothless: easily cowed into voting with the majority all the time, every time. They will eagerly line up to lick the new boot stomping on them.

That's what comes from trying to compromise with the ruling class rather than trying to crush them. Play a rigged game, you lose every time.

I like most absinthes I've had. I like the ritual of ice water a sugar cube.

Baijiu is OK. It's $800 for 350ml of 'gasoline' https://www.totalwine.com/spirits/baijiu/kweichow-moutai/p/172309375 so someone at least likes it. Personally I can leave it. 金門高粱 is powerful though. Its bad like touching a cactus needle with the tip of your finger is bad, pain but you also want to try it again.

Asia makes some incredible whiskies and recently I've been going back to boring old Suntory... it just tastes too good. I want Omar Honey wiskey from Taiwan. Maybe bevmo has it let me check

Yes, we have feathers--but the muscles of men.
I’ve lived in St. Louis for like fifteen years and I’ve never even seen a brain sandwich on a menu, I feel cheated.

TBQH the culinary fare here varies between like aggressively chain-style dining in west county, and original and fun delicious stuff inside the city. I live in a neighborhood full of great casual joints full of delicious food. but if you go to The Loop and Blueberry Hill they have all that weird awful poo poo probably, and yeah every pizza place basically does provel and it’s really great when you don’t want to poo poo for a week.

Also when I was a drunk, everywhere I went served pork steak, and I don’t think I’ve even seen anyone eat one for ten years, so I don’t know what happened. ran out of pig cows I guess.

toasted ravioli is the tits though

St. Louis cuisine is a bunch of boomer foods popularized before widespread container shipping and refrigerated trains meant you could get fresh food from around the world, so you're doing poo poo like soaking pork butts in sauce for 24 hours to make it edible. It's still popular in St. Louis because it's a Rust Belt city full of old people. Most people in St. Louis under age 50 aren't eating this stuff unless they're hanging out with Grandpa. Exceptions are toasted ravioli and concretes (DQ Blizzard, to foreigners).

I think the brain sandwiches went away with Mad Cow Disease.
