The actual reason I'd personally avoid automatic tables is that more parts and more mechanisms just mean there's more poo poo that can break. And do automatic turntables have a manual cueing lever? That would be a major sticking point for me.

Anyone got a VinylEngine account and can download & make available to me the owners & service manuals for Onkyo CP-1010a and CP-1100a? At this point it's been like ... years? since registration was open so I doubt there's any realistic hope of ever registering an account so I can do this myself.

What kind of stupid website does this? "Please note that accounts are automatically deleted after 2 years of inactivity. Vinyl engine sucks and seems purposely designed to be hard to use. I think the last time I needed them I just used a bugmenot.com login and snagged what I needed

I can't remember why but I have a bad feeling with Rough Trade. Some real horseshit customer service in the last year. I think it was an order that they took literally months to fill. But they also filled another order just fine.

I haven't personally looked but Walmart's website is a hellscape of non-Walmart sellers clogging up the listings, I don't know how you would sort out what Walmart's actually selling. You could (irk) go in an actual Walmart but is Abbey Road really worth that price

There are better Walmarts in your areas I guess because I was on one about a week ago and glanced at the section of LPs and it was dire. I wasn't expecting to find anything that crazy but holy poo poo was it a pile of garbage even by non-music store record selection standards.pwn posted:You could (irk) go in an actual Walmart but is Abbey Road really worth that price If you're saying that Abbey Road isn't good then you're dead to. pwn posted:Please attach a list of appropriate dad rock albums to use as an example of over-manufactured LPs the world doesn't need more of clogging up the pressing plants and retail shelves I just thought you were talking poo poo about the actual album. At this point in time we don't need a reissue of any classic rock album ever again and to no one's shock I don't think any new LP ought to cost more than 15-20 at absolute most. Especially loving Rumours. How many goddamn copies of that thing need to exist? Is there any person on earth who wants it and doesn't already have it and if anyone else does want it, holy poo poo there are millions and millions of copies in circulation. Why do they keep reissuing this album in particular?

I'd rather see a million copies of Rumours than however many (half a million?) of Adele's 30 that will be forever sitting on shelves unsold.Nihonniboku posted:Are they? I couldn't find the records, so I found an employee and asked if they had vinyl records. He said, "Um, I think we have records, but I don't know if they're vinyl. If we have them, they'd be on aisle 4." I found them, and it was a strange collection. It was like a mix of Merle Haggard, Machine Gun Kelly, and Peanuts Christmas. They did have a special gold vinyl edition of the first Third Eye Blind record which I would have been happy to grab for $15, but nothing was on sale, and that was selling for $40.

I picked up the Arctic Monkeys latest album, Use Your Illusion II, and the 2lp Creedence Chronicles greatest hits. Each of them were $15, and I don't think they were all Walmart Exclusives. There was a signed taped up saying "All vinyl $15". I'm gonna hit up the other Walmart in town today to see if they have Use Your Illusion 1.

My father in law gave me his record player from the 70s. It's a Philips 312. He tells me the only bad part on it is the stylus. I was able to disconnect it from the 4 wires behind it but with some googling I can't seem to find a replacement. All I come up with its a small plastic piece with the needle, but I assume I need the whole assembly. I don't know too much about this other than what I can find on YouTube, sorry for my ignorance.
