The current Blueberry story is weird for me, because I'm not American but I did grow up with the original Star Trek. So to me, the Earps are the bad guys who killed Chekov in the surreal western episode.

It's easy to see how this could happen. The Star Trek episode in question was deliberately doing a contrary interpretation of a story that they assumed all of their viewers were familiar with. This was a reasonable assumption in the United States. Anywhere else? Not so much.

Ah - but do you know where the story of the Earps and Doc Holliday comes from in the first place? I mean - not that this Blueberry story is overtly accurate to the actual history (so what's new?), but nevertheless...

And, on that note, in today's Blueberry: Ike gets upset with Virgil, or Doc's in Blueberry's corner... at least in the field of poker!, or I feel like Jon Bois should be commentating on this game

How the gently caress does this make even a little bit of sense even by this stupid loving hellworld's logic? So every day there's a new driver, who is willingly signing up to drive a guy to the office and then get eaten alive. How are they finding 365 candidates a year? How are they training them? How does it make a bit of loving sense to have a new driver every day?

Jesus loving christ, just eat your pencils and gently caress off to the mountains, Holbrook.

What a lovely ending. Jules must have written herself into a corner.

After tediously building both walls to corner herself into. Didn't yesterday end with "oops, maybe Cherry said too much", leading to the natural conclusion here of... she said exactly what perfectly solves all of the problems with no conflict? :laffo: This is getting uncomfortably close to Batiuk levels of hackery. I think this is the 4th or 5th Mark Trail storyline where a character avoids interactions with OSHA, police or a lawyer to solve a pretty simple problem.

Payndz posted:

So, uh... the rampaging elephant? Did I just imagine that?

The rampaging elephant busted into the tiger pen during a human sacrifice and the author cunningly jumped over to a much, much more boring parallel story. Also added a time skip to the morning to really muddy the waters!

It's Batiukian, isn't it? If you want people to eat right, you'd think ending the story on a massive heart attack note would illustrate your point.
