I want to blame Channel Awesome and its early ethos of Pagentry Uber Alles. Doug Walker and all the people who imitated him by choice or by coercion are probably to blame for all these "dress up weird and act like a hyperbolic rear end in a top hat" gimmick YouTubers the we have to endure today.

I still can't believe that all his fashy nerdtuber friends ghosted him NOT because his public-facing-persona looks like an S&M dungeon escapee and/or manager in gimp mask and a velvet housecoat, but because they were embarrassed that he was wrong too many times about Kathleen Kennedy and Alex Kurtzman getting fired from their respective jobs.

And there's a direct link in this instance, too. A lot of the CA people cite MST3K as influences (Lindsay, Spoony, Linkara, more probably) and a lot of them got better! Others were Doug.

Any Video Converter should do the trick. You can download videos directly off YouTube and then convert them in the program itself into any format you want, even MP3.

I use yt-dlp. It has a bunch of options so I just figured out what was good for me then sat it in a .bat file that I can just open, paste my youtube link in, and then it just dumps a video in my downloads. You can get it to extract audio as mp3 directly, and it has options for trawling a playlist if you have a batch of stuff you want to process.

Although, lol at the one woman just admitting to manipulating the interstitial content in order to influence children’s interests to line up with a future movie. Kinda undermined the whole “unsung heroes of low art” angle when you remember what it’s ultimately servicing.

Yeah, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a direct collaboration between Sega's Japanese and American wings and the project was initially organized by the decidedly American Mark Cerny. Members of Sega Technical Institute (Sega's North American game development wing at the time) worked directly with the Japanese production staff during Sonic 2's development, though less of their work ended up making it into the final product. So yeah, Americans have been working on the Sonic series almost since the start.

Also taking the opportunity to share these two videos about some of the behind the scenes stuff about Sonic:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWC4gJu3ZS4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lixTJBSJTzY

I'm watching that second one over for the second time because I've been very curious about what was happening with Sonic Team with Yakuza getting a resurgence and wondering what's been going on with Sonic since they never seemed to be able to nail every aspect of those games and only having guesses to go off of with how wishy-washy Shadow the Hedgehog was about being serious but not really committing and the level of crunch and how they ground up so many passionate people in the cycles of development it's just incredible the games came out as alright as they did.

I've beaten Sonic Heroes myself and I hated how much of it took place on levels floating in the air with mainly grindrails and death pits no matter where you looked but knowing that it's because they had only one level designer available who working himself to the bone to get the game out I can't be as harsh on it as I used to be.
