The thing to remember about Musk reinstating Trump's Twitter isn't that it's one rich fascist doing another rich fascist a favor, but rather it's him trying to show all the chuds that he's the top guy now that they need to curry favor with, not Trump. It's also why he'd never let Alex Jones back on Twitter, either (because that whole thing about holding his dying child is absolute bullshit). Of course, he's going about doing this in the most ham-handed way possible

Keep in mind it's very likely that Musk just assumed he could fire all of Twitter and that he would have a legion of people beating down his door to replace them for the opportunity to work for the Great Elon Musk (and was likely just as shocked when nobody clicked "yes" on that stupid email, leaving him with just the people who are stuck there due to visa concerns, and the hardest of hardcore bootlickers). He's not just an idiot, he's an idiot who's bought fully into his own hype, so trying (and failing) to anoint himself King of the Chuds via Twitter really wouldn't be all that out of character for him (and neither is the fact that he's doing it in the stupidest ways possible).

I'm really just kinda quietly furious that elon just decided that the international operations in asia were worthless and fired everyone. You need local teams in places like india and japan just to handle account support and moderation issues in their languages. And elon just decides that only Americans exist and they don't need anything international.
