Obviously the winner should be Dana for finally bringing the glorious sport of Slapfighting to the U.S. and helping to start a sequence of events that will lead to the end of Russian military aggression and lead to a never before seen peacetime between the U.S.A. and Russia.

Yeah the reaction to HHH WWE has been mixed at best so while he'll get votes I doubt he wins or runs away with booker of the year.

I mean if you get your wrestling opinions exclusively from Reddit or Youtube Wrestling Journalists then yeah the narrative is that WWE is suddenly amazing and AEW is suddenly the worst wrestling show in history and like personally I've fallen off AEW a lot this year but literally nothing about WWE under HHH makes me want to watch them instead

And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth,
And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

i think its fair to say in a direct comparison WWE is easily better than where they were a year ago and AEW is worse, and when something is on the rise and the other on the decline it makes people tend to overblow things. I don't think both are equal i think its fair to say that the two companies are closer than they have been than any point during AEW's lifespan.

I feel the same about both aew and wwe, but i’ve been noticing something odd about my antipathy/apathy towards wwe’s product

I suspect a big part of that is the fact that I do not watch WWE anymore, so the constant reinforcement of who are stars to me(aew wrestlers) has completely beaten out the folks on the wwe roster, who all feel to me like they are either being squandered(KO, new day) or aren’t stars(riddle, corbin, theory). any time i look at wwe stuff, it’s either people i like who my extremely biased, tribalistic brain says “they would be better in aew”, or people that my extremely biased brain says “don’t recognize, doesn’t have the look, not a real star”.

I wonder if i started watching wwe regularly again, if that would change.

Gunther and Sheamus could be the greatest match in history and I still wouldn't watch the other 2 hours and 40 minutes of Raw to see it.

It's more like if you only get your wrestling opinions from the most cracked Reddit posts and click bait YouTube journalists. The average wreddit opinion isn't that different, they just also choose to suffer corny posting.

The Vince and Punk stories were pretty good. Dave's week to week reporting on the latter has been questionable but the post-investigation story was decent.

God drat, the boys walking through the Mae Young/Moolah dog barking segment was A+ stuff. This whole episode is hilarious. I do sometimes get tired of them going on and on about how poo poo these shows are every week and how much they hate having to watch it etc. but I mean when it's stuff like this, well I can't really blame them.

I know I watched this episode when it aired, and I do not have a single memory of any of that bullshit. maybe I flipped to the Monday Night Football game during that segment. But goddamn. Just baffling, awful poo poo that appealed to no one but Vince.
