Listen, I've been around a bit, you know, and I thought I'd seen some creepy things go on in the movie business, but I really have to say this is the most disgusting thing that's ever happened to me.

Especially since like 90% of 40k YouTubers tend to pronounce it "Abba-don", which both annoys the poo poo out of me, and makes me think of a high-ranking Mafiosi dancing to Swedish pop music :v:

Just curious but what is the point of getting a Twitter archive? It seems pointless to me but maybe I’m missing a reason other than “I may want to review my shitposts someday.”

If archiving includes images and you're an artist, it might be useful for keeping track of your old works. Ideally you'd already have all those original copies neatly organized elsewhere, but sometimes you have aaaaaaaa-final-edit3.png saved four folders deep in a weird place and you just wanna see the inferior copy.

I've been avoiding logging back on to delete because my laptop's a piece of poo poo that can barely load the site but I forgot archiving existed so maybe I'll just do that instead of trying to manually save anything before I blow up my account

That vuln was claimed to have been introduced with a code change that was well after from when this breach was from.

repiv
Aug 13, 2009

the previously known vuln was introduced in june 2021 according to twitter

chad says the data they've seen is from "no earlier than 2021"

that doesn't seem to contradict that this is the same breach we already knew about

one thing that actually surprises me is how indecisive musk is. i knew he was dumb, but i figured he was the kind of "stick to your first instinct no matter what" dumb. instead, he waffles back and forth, firing people only to try and rehire them, putting out the paid check and then pulling it, etc. it's interesting to observe.

No, he had the choice of not firing those people or barrelling through with the paid check even though he probably had a dozen people telling him not to do either.

This is a personal hell of his own making, and it's delightful to watch from a distance. I hope the EU or one of the alphabet agencies in the US find something to nail his head to a wall with as a warning to others.

I think one mistake with twitter for both elon and trump

Elon signed something with the FTC stating that his tweets carried the same weight as press releases.

Trumps twitter was treated as something official, (the POTUS should only have offical announcements through the press secretary) POTUS twitter (just poo poo posting) the real truth is on facebook

i think twitter has a good bit of inertia from the previous infrastructure they'd built but yeah it's gonna fall apart as they try to implement anything new or try to make changes lol. they still can't even get an identification program going - twitter already had a really good one

So they're obviously violated California's labour laws with the way they 'fired' everyone with the WARN stuff and also it being extremely questionable that they did fire them properly with dumb emails but what are the odds they just use their mandatory arbitration clause to get a compromised arbiter to make it go away in a blatant miscarriage of justice because that's just what companies can do now.
