Six Flags is in the drain but is being stopped from going down via a lifeline from activist investors. Who might in fact ultimately be attempting a hostile takeover but who could say.

Basically the plan to raise the price of tickets to create a "premium park going experience" flopped big time. Toward the end of the year the CEO relented but they're down bad enough that it's unlikely he sees 2024 and if the recession is as bad as it could potentially be neither might Six Flags.

I personally think someone would buy them, or maybe the parks get spun off, but who knows.

the employee recalls West making similar statements to colleagues about a shoe into which West or a Yeezy consumer could ejaculate — “not a sex-toy sneaker but something that you were so into that you would wanna have an intimate relationship” — at least 10 separate times. “He’d be, like, ‘literally gently caress.’ He would be very clear on what that meant.”

Lol yep, and it went exactly as any football fan would expect:

”Wikipedia” posted:

In 2005, he bought 12% of the stock of amusement park operator Six Flags through his private equity company RedZone Capital. He later gained control of the board, placing his friend and ESPN executive Mark Shapiro as CEO and himself as chairman. In April 2009, the New York Stock Exchange delisted Six Flags' stock as it had fallen below the minimal market capitalization. In June 2009, Six Flags announced that the company was delaying a $15 million debt payment and two weeks later, Six Flags filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. As part of the reorganization, 92% of the company ended up in the hands of their lenders with Snyder and Shapiro being removed from their positions.

I went to their website to check out my local Six Flags, and it was $40 for a daily ticket. Not horrible.

Then I looked at parking. Another $40.

That was/is the stupidest part, as they hiked the prices to keep poors and teens out, but haven’t done anything to make it a premium experience.

In the case of Six Flags it would apparently be maintenance and keeping the park clean which they can't due to poor staffing.

Guess one: It's code for "we want people to be as fanatical about six flags as they are for Disney parks", while ignoring that Disney has an entire brand engine feeding into that

Guess two: What you said, but also with fresher paint on everything.

This is my second year buying 2 season passes and 2 dining plans for Six Flags. I live 15 minutes away and it's a good weekend activity for my daughter. First I heard they aren't renewing the dining plan option because someone went online about how they use it every day. Now they aren't open for Christmas themed December weekends. I don't think I'll be renewing my season pass next year. Maybe they want more short term heavy spenders and are actively trying to deter me. At this point I might just fly to Disney before I go to Six Flags again.

But there were no curse words allowed by musicians visiting the ranch to record tracks on the album that would become Donda, and a former senior employee recalls West suggesting to people who said the phrase “Hell, yeah!” to repeat themselves with “Heaven, yeah!”

Yes

I remember reading an article on the making my beautiful dark fantasy and it details how all the screens in the meeting rooms are playing porn to assist with Kanye 's creative process. Definitely didn't expect it to become him just randomly showing porn of his then wife to people because it gets him hard

Instead of anything resembling work, however, the collaborator claims West had hardcore pornography on the screen. “He showed me the video of Francesca Le, a buff porn star with a strap-on dildo loving another girl in the rear end,” the former collaborator tells Rolling Stone.
...
(In a statement to Rolling Stone after publication of the article, Le says it’s “extremely concerning, disheartening, and disappointing that someone would use my work in a way that is demeaning to other human beings.”)

The whole thing is horrifying but the fact they have a quote from the porn actress is kind of a dark lol.

But a dozen former Yeezy and Adidas staffers recalled an atmosphere in which West praised some employees while belittling staffers he’d publicly supported just weeks, if not moments, earlier — “playing mind games,” one former staffer called it. After one disagreement, for example, West made a young female designer of color sit on the floor for a meeting that lasted hours, according to a former staffer in the room. “You don’t deserve to sit at the table,” the staffer recalled West saying.

Dumb marketing move.

For every person who takes full advantage of the dining plan, there’s got to be twenty who read about the One Weird Trick but won’t eat more than a few meals in the park.

Nobody ever talks about what a pain in the rear end it must be to get to, park, go into, and deal with the rigamarole of a theme park just to go eat two meals that are probably school lunch corn dog tier at best.

The dining plans went away because the audience for them was mostly the parents that bought passes for their kids in lieu of hiring a babysitter for the summer. Y'know, the thing that the CEO is actively trying to move away from.

It's okay though, this'll only be the third time in as many decades that the parks end up under the control of people that have no clue how to run a regional attraction.
