I've been rewatching some really old terrible cringey music videos, and there's one video I vaguely remember from about 15 or 20 years ago? that I can't seem to find anywhere any more.

It's a South American (Brazilian?) video as far as I can recall, with a group of (3 or 4) young girls performing some local hit pop song from that time, probably some boy band's. It's got scenes of the girls standing around awkwardly in various settings around their city, like an overgrown field with trees I think? also a city park or beach promenade maybe? And they sing super off-key and off-beat. It's hilariously awkward in that "anime club every Wednesday in room N135" teenage girl energy way.

Been thinking about a particular scene from an old movie from the 80s or 90s that I can't quite place. I want to say it was a young girl but what I do remember vividly is she had to go to some giant, enormous library where they keep records of like every newspaper ever made and she was searching for something, and she had to have someone help her get this giant, giant books with every single newspaper they ever made in them so she could scan through them for something. I remember this being so cool, but my searches don't lead me anywhere. Closest thing I can think of is maaaaaybe that old nickelodeon movie harriet the spy, but I don't have a way to watch it to check.

journey into Kirk's unknown

There was an mp3 that I picked up ~20 years ago, I think it was from SA by an electronic artist called 747. The track was about 50 minutes long and if my memory isn't failing me, it was pretty good. Would be cool to listen to this again if for no other reason than to indulge nostalgia.

edit: 747 is pretty common and none of the music I've found under that name so far matches, it's possible that it's just a really old track that isn't part of their current library but maybe it's from this guy, https://soundcloud.com/747/tracks. Actually, it probably is, and what I'm thinking of is probably some lost mix, I guess I could ask him and find out.

edit2: I sent the guy a message, look at me taking the initiative to solve my own problems.

woww I've seen this when it came out, but I don't think this was the scene. I seem to remember it just being one girl getting help from an adult...maybe. I may have to watch the full scene.

Also memories are fun cuz I can confidently say that I haven't thought about this movie one single time in 25+ years and yet as soon as i launched this vid and saw all the girls i instantly remembered a part of this where one of the girls here pretends to drown in a river expressly to troll/traumatize the poo poo out of her friends lol

I've been trying to remember this short book or maybe short story I read in college and it's driving me crazy. It's set during the American Civil War and follows a common soldier, at least part of it is during a walking retreat from combat and describes the weariness, low morale and general terrible condition of the soldiers following their defeat. This one passage always stuck with me, the way the author described a badly wounded soldier who stopped on the the trail to die and how the main character overcame his fear of death in watching that soldier die, something like "but it was just the Great Death after all". I think the author was a young person, only in their early to mid 20s who had never seen combat, but actual Civil War veterans who read the story had sworn he must've been a combat veteran because of how well he described the condition of the shell-shocked and war-weary soldiers. Anyone have a clue what this might be?

I caught a clip of some bizarre Japanese art film on twitter a moment ago and it reminded me of something even weirder that I've seen clips of, and would like to find again (maybe even the whole movie if it's out there).

The pieces of this weird Asian mystery movie I saw seemed to take place in a school or hospital, and... I don't even know if in describing any of this correctly but some character sits down in a chair and a growth comes out of their butt, and the growth has a face and starts talking to them, seemingly antagonistically. There was other, similarly-weird not-quite-body-horror stuff, but I can't remember any of it exactly. It all looked like practical effects or maybe very clever CG, either way it sure was surreal.

There was someone who posted on Styleforum back in mid 2000's that had the ugliest, tackiest #menswear outfits that I really want to revisit. I think his pictures were shared around the internet and maybe even in a thread here, but my "worst of styleforum" searches aren't turning up anything.

The guys style was long bootcut jeans, shiny patterned dress shirt, shiny patterned large power tie, blazer made from patterned and overly thick material, and excessively long and chunky square toe dress shoes. He was a white guy, hair buzzed kinda short, pretty sure he had glasses, and he posted a ton of these horrible outfits.

I’m trying to find an old animated music video, possibly from the flash era, that involved a cow running from a farmer that kept trying to trap it in some kind of BDSM scenario. I think there was a refrain in the music that went something like, “moo, moo, moo, I’m a cow”.

Every search term I can think of using to track this thing down just brings up weird hucow porn. I had no idea people were so into that these days.

No... but that does look fun. I know I'm not describing it correctly, the problem is that all of the clips I've seen of this mystery film felt like some fever dream because of the body-absurdity. It might not even be a face growing out of a rear end, but it's a bunch of stuff that's on the same level of 'unsettling'.

Does anyone know the name of a comic that came out around 5-10 years ago the focused on a very muscular pale woman with a weird baby face who could 'hulk out' into a even stronger body?

The reason I ask is I remember reading some issues back in the day and seemed pretty good but then I forgot about it, and every once and a while I see the character's face as someone's avatar on this board and it sparks the memory that check to see if the series ended or is still going.

Ah, that's it. Thanks. I guess with such a generic title I can see why I forgot it.

I don't really remember anything about the story aside from when they introduced the sister character and suddenly it became - "gently caress it, I guess we're doing Venom vs Carnage now."

We should also point out that the character was originally designed by Rob Liefeld and was extremely generic until a new team took over the book and gave the character a complete redesign in issue 23.

Yeah I'm reading those comics online right now for the first time ever and she's basically an immortal alien who was bred to be the ultimate warrior. She's about 9 feet tall and over 500 years old, she's pretty much a Warhammer 40K space marine except with additional super powers.

Looking for a music video from the late 90's/early 2000s. I thought it was TLC but I can't remember the name of the song. I do recall there was a black teenager in the video, and she was cornered between vehicles by some white assholes, and the video cut away to the singer(s?) and then back to some old white bald dude yelling at the white kids to leave her alone, and saved her from them.

Finally caught up with the thread, and my white whale hasn't come up yet.

So, the very first video game I ever played as a kid was this really simple hunting game on a Texas Instruments computer. It was basically a shooting gallery type thing where you use the joystick to aim at various woodland creatures. I can't seem to track down the name of it on any of the lists of games developed for Texas Instruments computers, though. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

E: Oh, also, years and years ago there was an SA thread about something like a movie theater chain was going to start airing PSAs before movies. The thread was otherwise unremarkable except for the fact that two separate posters, within minutes of each other, posted something like "What next, Phillip Seymour Hoffman is going to tell me to pick up after my dog?!" It looks like it's beyond the reach of forums and Google search, but I figure I'd throw it out there anyway.
