I think I remember the consensus on these forums when Garfield Kart 2 released was that it was hilarious that they made another one, but that the first game was actually quite good and the new one was even better.

I'm sure there's at least 2-3 kart racers that are just absolute shovelware with a mascot branding on it. Like, Crazy Frog had one, that can't have been anywhere near good.
