Lockout for Halo 2

Not for any particular reason (it is a good map though), just that it was apparently the most played map purely because it was the first one in the list.

I dunno if it's quite on the level of de_dust but back when I was playing TF2 it seemed like every other round was on cp_badlands

I think Wake Island is kind of The Canon Battlefield Map on account of being the map in the original BF1942 demo.

I still remember where the railgun is.

You have to take a bath to get it. One of the brilliant things about its placement is that someone who is good with hand grenades can very effectively interdict picking up the railgun.

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

Is that the map with the tunnel to the railgun? We played that one all the time in school

I'm trying not to be excited for the Force Engine, but I kinda am. I started playing Dark Forces ages ago with the XL Engine, so I'm looking forward to maybe being able to go back to it in the near future.

It seems basically done at this point. I haven't actually like, played through the whole game with it, but I usually mess around for a while with each new release and I haven't run into any issues. I know i heard there were some crashes when the new renderer came out, but at least with quicksaves that won't be so devastating...

Lucius says the only thing missing for v1.0 is squashing whatever bugs raise their heads. The Dark Forces support is Feature Complete, and typing that is a drat good feeling.

Kiss has always been funny to me. They have the wild costumes, a massive amount of merchandising and spinoff fiction where they are some sort of space gods, and the music itself is just gentle dad rock.

I haven't played it since it came out on the Dreamcast, but in my memory it is blended together with Painkiller into one terrible mess.

It got decent reviews from what I remember, but I have fairly negative memories of it. I think it was some Todd McFarlane thing about a Dark Circus or something and it took itself way, way too serious. The circus stuff got super tedious by the end and I vaguely remember fighting some rocket launching clowns as the last band member that was pretty lame.

This works pretty well, but I can’t coax it into working in Windowed Mode, no matter what other stuff I try and bolt on. Alas…

IIRC it was based on a McFarlane-led (because the band liked Spawn) comic book adaption of a visual theme the band was kicking around for the extravagant production on one of their tours, with the game being handled by a one-and-done studio mostly made up of of guys who left Ion Storm during Daikatana’s long percolation. This is because the comic book industry and the video game industry were both Hella Cray at the turn of the millennium.

Veil for both Natural Selection & Natural Selection 2 (although these days, on Woozas / The Playground at least, Yana has arguably taken the top spot)

I'm finding it difficult to think of others but it's probably because there haven't been as many other multiplayer FPS games that have been as definitive for me in the same way

Non FPS - Garden of War in Warcraft 2 was like the only map ever played in multiplayer

I was trying to think of the overplayed maps for mods like NS, Zombie Panic!, Gloom, Fistful of Frags, Action Quake 2, Sven coop, etc. but can't remember the names of any of those maps even though I can still see their layouts pretty clearly in my head.
