This is the incredibly salient and correct point. Star Wars is a setting in which a bunch of different genre pieces can be produced with the heavy lifting of backstory and world building already done. You are allowed to prefer one genre, but that does not mean that Star Wars cannot be used by someone with passion for another.

What I am saying is where is the Star Wars Cheers.

They could do a crossover with Morn.

I'm calling it now: in season 2 of Andor K2-S0 will be reprogrammed/made into a nice rebel droid by taking B4's consciousness, or part of it, and using it as part of the reprogramming process (not entirely dissimilar to what went down between the droid in the Solo movie and the Falcon). It helps make us care more about K2-S), gives B4 more importance to the overall story of Andor/Rogue One, and just seems like a smooth story route to take. I mean, the droid's name is B4, I feel like that's gotta be some foreshadowing there.

Yeah, the comic books are like the most expendable properties when it comes to the canon.

There's definitely potential for Vel & Cinta being a splinter cell. Reasons for there to be friction between them and Luthen & Andor, and potentially cut off from Mon as well.

I think she’ll be a problem, not because of Andor but because she is by far the most zealous of any rebels we’ve seen and I think they’re setting up her story for some scenario in which she does something reckless or stupid out of her rage at the Empire

B2EMO and K-2S0 are really nothing alike, personality-wise. Bee is already one of the most important characters in the setting by virtue of how sweet and perfect he is, and Kay is already a popular character in his own right with a clearly distinct role from Bee. I can't see any reason for there to be some some twist where they're actually the same character: there can be more one than one popular droid in the setting.

I could see Andor's relationship with Bee (and possibly the absence of it, given Bee's possible death or just the fact they're separated by the fact Cassian is actively working in Rebel Intelligence) being part of what drives him to go out of his way to fully reprogram and save Kay. That seems a much likelier connection if there's going to be one.

What function is a droid like B2EMO intended to serve? Like, originally. I get that it pretty much just became a companion/pet to the Andor family as its functions and charge capacity deteriorated. Is it a astromech variant? All I can think of it doing was the hologram and radio comms with Cassian (assuming that function was built in. Is B2 just a like a smart phone or Alexa like device?

Edit: Oh, I remembered he has a shock prod for dogs that piss on him. But i also remembers I could just look it up on Wookiepedia. Seems like he is a salvage assistant. I imagine he just drives around with a little wagon behind him in his prime to haul pc cooler units Clem finds in the junk heaps.

In practice the comics (and books) are still treated as canon-until-contradicted. Kanan's backstory in his comic was changed somewhat for Bad Batch, and S7 of Clone Wars and Tales of the Jedi altered some of the things in the Ahsoka novel.

Speaking of K2, he was a fun twist on the droid slavery concept, as an imperial droid who's been reprogrammed to serve the rebels but is just as enslaved. At the end I'm pretty sure he sacrifices himself from his own free will though

We saw a little bit of Bee working alongside Maarva and Clem on their salvage run on Kenari back in episode 3. He was reading air toxicity, reporting on the Republic Frigate's position, and carrying equipment for them in his internal compartments. He also has the shock prod as mentioned. Seems like a general assistant droid with a grab-bag of functionality.

True to some extent, although doesn’t that applies to all the droids in the setting? I don’t think R2D2 or C-3PO had the option to stop working for the rebels or to refuse orders. K2 has enough free will to smack Cassian for fun and seems like he’d refuse to do something like march into lava.

He was monitoring comms n other poo poo during the whole Andor gets kidnapped as a kid subplot so I would assume hes a general use platform.

An absolute gronk with a face like a chewed mango.
Finally watched the last ep of Andor. What a satisfying end to one of if not the best pieces of SW content since ESB.

This show has given me the same feelings as when I discovered the SW EU novels as a young teen. Small in scale but huge in impact and overall adds so much depth and richness to the universe.

Mando 3 will have to suffice for the time being, but it's going to be a bloody long wait until Andor2. Is there anything else SW coming next year that goons are interested in? I can't do another BoBF or Obi Juan cringefest.

I think there is something important in Cinta's only action being to knife one (1) Imp during a riot. It's not a lack of focus her part, because the show went out of its way to make it very clear she was dedicated to the cause and the mission she was given. It's more like she has demonstrated a lack of vision, she is a cog in the machine just like all of the Imps but her machine is revenge-powered rather than power- and fear-powered.
