AFAIK, the idea that it would be possible to "punt Hitler, and work with the Nazis" was sort of on the table until information about the death camps became public enough that it became politically impossible to think about such things. Cue US entry into the war in a big way.

Lonnie is doing a lot of poo poo and encouraging nazism but so far he's not mass-executing people, so, the most cynical part of me thinks "even if Twitter only holds on as an even further right Parler, there's a pretty solid chance they will end up recouping a lot of lost advertising as stuff settles down and the news cycle moves on".

The problems with search isn't code, it's architecture. It's easy enough to write a query, but I guarantee there's no monolithic dbo.tweets table. You're searching indexes of indexes pointing to datasets partitioned by region and clever math. The hard part is the indexing and making the indexes available to different regions which is a lot more of a network architecture problem than anything to keep it reliable and secure. If PS4 dude is asking for just the top level how to query the DB then that is a hard lmao from me

I've actually wondered about that. Now in sane countries, workers are (at least somewhat) protected, and most people don't have easy access to firearms; which to a degree limits how abusive an employer can be (at least while staying within the law), and reduces the chance of someone using deadly force to air their grievances.

But I never read about horrible bosses like Musk getting killed, regardless of how awful they are to their employers. It's always some psycho just shooting up an office instead.
I would think that when you treat all your workers like garbage, eventually you'll end up messing with the wrong person.
