I do know several struggling guys who take up MMA and post "inspirational" videos with quotes from Peterson over photos of lions and swelling library piano music. Some of them pull-up and some of them get into toxic poo poo and I boot them (these are mostly acquaintances at best, maybe guys from school or three jobs back, that kind of thing). Generally, I have sympathy for them at first, because they're lost and grabbing at what seems like answers and sometimes they're able to apply critical thinking. Out of acquaintances, the ones who get hosed off with me tend to be the nose ring and dungaree teachers with craft-beer and beard "handsome men" boyfriends i met when I played roller derby when I'll share slides about how some pees are also poos who seem really into the aesthetics and language of social justice, without the actual social justice part.
