Nate RFB posted:I'm looking forward to the Bocchi deaths supercut that will inevitably get made when it's over. I've counted six deaths so far, but I might be lowballing it. This episode was also a blast. "Yurucamp photorealistic sightseeing, but 3/4 of the group are out of shape introverts" feels absolutely perfect for this show. It's also unbelievably relatable and hits close to home that feeling of wanting to make plans with friends, but not really wanting to be the one to be the one to make plans. Kudos to the show also for showing something as frustrating and disheartening as being unable to really communicate well, it's both sad and believable that the rest of the band didn't realize Bocchi was actually hurting because, well, she's always like that right? I've been on both sides of that disconnect more than once, and I haven't seen much media that depicts that so easily.

i like how the group actually loves and accepts bocchi, they just dont always know how to handle her. the gang talking about how cool she is on the way there was sweet. (I also liked how bocchi was in the seat thats slightly cut off from the others on the way there, but ryo was there on the way back. suits ryo because shes willingly a loner.)

I like this whole show so much I just read the manga up to the latest chapter and man it really just gets better. Now I'm just looking forward to see how the anime adapts all of it going forward cause its going above and beyond right now.

Now I'm just looking forward to see how the anime adapts all of it going forward cause its going above and beyond right now. Same here. The manga is sweet and hits all the kind of notes you'd expect from a 4-koma. While it's more restrained than the anime there's enough panels that have the art break out that you can see why the director(?) was so drawn to this series. It also keeps it's focus on how people manage nerves/anxiety really well so I hope we get a second season to cover the later volumes. That said we should get Kukori's show this season which'll be real dang neat.

"An unfamiliar ceiling." I feel like there should be a Youtube video that's just a mashup of every time an anime makes a blatant Evangelion reference. Would probably make a nice recommendation list. Also that psychic pain scene is probably the most relatable Hitori has ever gotten, and that's saying something. Delphisage fucked around with this message at 20:00 on Dec 10, 2022 |
