He posted he was ‘praying’ for Coach Leach. I hope he is ok, but Leach seems to be an rear end in a top hat (see his stupid science comments for starters) and gently caress coming back to play for him.

I have a soft spot for Leach as he and Hal Mumme and a young Dana Holgorsen helped put Valdosta State on the map. Almost everything the Blazers have accomplished is because of the Air Raid.

Yeah this really sucks if he doesn’t make it.

I know it’s a morbid side note, but when’s the last time an active FBS head coach died? I can’t remember any off the top of my head in the 25 years I’ve been following CFB. Paterno would be the closest I guess.

Didn't that happen to Indiana? And the guy before Pat Fitzgerald?

It did but I don't know if they were the active coaches when it happened.

Ah that explains a lot, I think I’d mentally combined Walker and Fitzgerald into one Norrhwestern coach who had a health scare but got better

Bo Rein always sticks out to me because of his brevity at LSU and how weird his death was (likely hypoxia).

I remember when Johnny Majors had heart surgery. While he survived, it did lead to him losing his job to Fulmer. There are some older fans who still hold a grudge against Fulmer because of this.

Dang, Leach :(

Hard to imagine a scenario that required so much acute care that would allow him to keep coaching, but I’m sure he’s getting about the best healthcare available.

Mike Leach's weird deadpan interviews are like nothing else. Whether or not he's fit to coach again here's hoping he pulls through.

I've heard that Leach used to rollerblade through his neighborhood in Lexington, which definitely seems on brand for him. Those late 90s Kentucky teams with Couch throwing it all over the field that he and Mumme crafted up were sure fun to watch.

Also the fake playbook in the red river shootout might be one of the best stories ever.

The least-bad felony. Second degree would have to involve a weapon, and first degree would have be an assault on someone in the legal system, based on what I'm seeing here:

The fact that Tuberville literally abandoned recruits at a dinner to take another job should tell people everything they need to know about him. Guy is a gigantic piece of poo poo human, even for a college football coach

Not a stoke, but not good still. I'd suspect this takes him out of coaching for min a year or two if not permenantly.

If he wasn't breathing for several minutes he will be lucky to have much quality of life going forward, forget about coaching football, and that's if he survives.
