This is actually not true in the legendary edition, you need to do so few missions per party member I ended up getting the achievement for Kaidan before I even left the Presidium

Same with all the 'use weapon/power X times' ones which are much more reasonable now

I've seen fun you people wouldn't believe.
Tiki torches on fire off the summit of Kilauea.
I watched disco balls glitter in the dark near the Brandenburg Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like crowds in rain.

Time to sleep.
I also just started Mass Effect and one of the legendary edition changes I noticed that clashes with the advice in the wiki is that killing things in the Mako no longer has an xp penalty so you don't have to get out to finish things off.

There's a bunch of other changes that make things easier too but aren't tips I guess, like cooldowns are all shorter and it seems to auto save a lot more.

Some tips:

This version has Traits, which are extra bonuses for your characters, take your time in choosing and plan them around the character you want to build. For example, I have 4 levels of Swordmage on my dedicated Mage so I can equip heavy armor and still cast spells. The health and mana traits are useful since at late game they end up being better than points in Endurance.

The Junk Bag is your friend, it's "unlimited" item storage that's available at all times. No need to drop items in towns to save for later. Careful about clicking the "Sell All in Bag" option at vendors though.

Along with that, collect pretty much everything you can that has value for either quests or selling purposes. You can't close doors to steal as easily in the older games, but if you can move your characters in a way so they can't be seen by any NPCs, you can still steal items.

Weight only counts for what the character is wearing, not in their pack.

Everyone should have a level in Priest for Minor Healing and Curing. Having your frontline able to heal themselves will allow to you save energy on your mages so they can cast bigger spells.

Dual wielding is very powerful. You may want to consider two dual wielders instead of a melee specialist and pole specialist.

Battle Disciplines are also very powerful if used correctly. For example, getting your weapon skills up to 15 on your mages seems pointless, but Adrenaline Rush will put your AP at 20 for one round, which is enough for 3 full actions at the start of battle. This means you can have your mage Haste the party, Slow the enemy and either damage the enemy or try to Daze them all in the same turn.

it's basically like rct2, except:
- building decorations around rides really matters, visitors care about this and investing in decoration tends to pay for itself by raising ride decoration ratings so you can charge more
- the missions are fun and you should try them. there's a few missions where you start off with some prebuilt stuff, it's usually best to just delete this, especially elevator rides
- visitors like to be kept out of the rain. covering paths helps a lot, having a covered food court with patrolling guards and handymen really helps. use your overlays to get information about what the visitors need
- you might want to build a simple stationary ride and cover it with some glass ceiling or encasing it like a greenhouse, then saving your design so you can reuse it on rainy maps. guests will not use some rides in the rain unless you cover them

it's a really good game

Tactics Ogre Reborn:

- After the early game, major boss enemies can start with 4 of the card buffs. Meaning they can start with big damage up and MP regen, so they can spam finishing moves. Unless you like having your guys getting one-hit killed, it's a very good idea to have a few people carrying Brands of the Sacrifice to inflict Weaken and/or Echo Stones to inflict Spoilspell.
- On that same note, bosses aren't immune to Breached, so having some Dynast-King's Mead ready helps a lot to open them up to damage so you can kill them before they wear you down.
- There are some 1-on-1 boss duels, so make sure your Denam has a way to hurt the heavily-armored and either tank some damage or out-maneuver enemies.

It's been a couple of months since I platted it so I know I'm forgetting things but I'll go over what I remember:

Always make sure you have a meal's effect active. Your current effect ends the moment you exit a dungeon. Get in the habit of immediately heading to the safehouse to eat after you leave any dungeon.

Keep up to date on your demon fusions. (I forget what Soul Hackers calls them but it's the exact same system as Persona, just with a different name.) Any time you level up, see what new fusions you can make. Don't get attached to any particular demon; their effectiveness quickly falls off compared to higher level demons.

Try to keep your "bonding" points fairly even across your party. Your progress through a party member's Soul Dungeon is gated partly by these points, and you don't want your party members to be unevenly developed.

Sabbath damage is the key to pretty much every battle; every other type of damage you can do is trivial in comparison. So prioritize how to maximize Sabbath damage:

Always hit an enemy's weakness even if that means you have to use a weak attack; the Sabbath point from hitting the weakness will make up for it.

Choose skills that buff Sabbath damage in some way, like a skill that gives you a Sabbath point even if you don't hit a weakness or a skill that gives you multiple Sabbath points when you do hit a weakness. Get as many of these skills as you can on every single character.

Get Ringo's Commander skills to change demons mid-battle so that you're better able to hit weaknesses and get Sabbath points.

Don't let Ringo get KO'd. If she does, revive her immediately. If she's in KO status at the end of a round, she obviously can't perform Sabbath. It's almost like forfeiting the entire round. I just checked and I'm wrong about this. Ringo can still perform Sabbath if she's KO'd. But you can't use any of her Commander skills while she's KO'd, which is also bad. Especially if you're fighting a boss!

Keep demon slots open in order to be able to recruit new demons you come across, but not too many. No more than two or three. The reason for this is that the number of Sabbath points you can earn per round is capped at the current number of demons you have. Lower Sabbath cap = longer battles.

Edit: Also, stay away from the Fandom wiki. It's filled with unmarked spoilers. There are often major endgame spoilers at the top of a page.

Card Shark

- Some actions can be performed slower to give you more time to look at cards without triggering suspicion. An example of this would be pouring wine, which raises their hand slower but gives you more time overall.

- Depending on the level your goal can be accomplished in a single hand if you can bet the opponent's entire purse on one throw. For multiple-hand tricks where the second hand is much harder (and slower) than the first to pull off you can sometimes bypass the second hand entirely and win the match in one hand. If you have a bad memory like I do then this trick can get you through some of the deck swapping games.

If you are stealthed you companions cannot be detected so you don't need to worry about them

You play like 5 characters across the course of the game but on the same map. So if you didn't go to an area on one character you can on another

You can recruit companions that previous versions of the player character had. They will still be carrying everything you left them with. Metagame with that as you will

They tried to set the game up like divinity original sin with lots of environmental stuff. A lot of the time that means that enemies stand next to leaking oil barrels etc etc. You know what to do.

Upgrading your stuff is important. Remember to do that.

A lot of the time when I was playing I set up or picked a killzone, made a noise and had the enemies run in. It can be like a narrow funnel or they run to some oil barrels where they heard the noise. I'm sure there are better ways to do it but if you get as lazy as me it will work.

Kind of a distant recall since I played the game in two spurts of major gaming hours months apart. The only major thing is to buy the DLC as you get some weapons that make early combat far more manageable.

It's really grindy early game, with almost no enemy variety beyond the same 4 wild animals and some humans in various different outfits.

The faction stuff is both wildly under-utilized and way too important at certain parts. The game makes a big deal about sneaking around in faction armor as a disguise and it's used maybe 2-3x in the entire game.

Combat quickly becomes about making sure you have grenades or guns or something that attacks armor. Exploring around outside of your level isn't going to be worth it until you have something like that. The armor/health mechanic seems to heavily favor firearms and alchemy in general.

The story is where it shines, as there's more reactivity then you'd expect, and consequences of not doing party member missions range from dislike, death of a party member, and or them betraying you.

You eventually find a fair amount of mods and equipment that can boost your skill check abilities, so you don't want to max any skill right away.

Is there anything I need to make sure I do to get the true/good/secret/whatever ending? I remember P4G had some finicky stuff you needed to do to see the real ending, I'm wondering if Royal works the same way. I could've sworn I remembered seeing a tip about needing to max out your relationship with one of the new confidants (which honestly I was gonna do anyway because hey, new content) but it's not on the wiki; maybe I dreamed it or it was just a post. I remember relying on a guide to get P4G's ending, is there anything I need to know for royal, or is this one a little more straightforward? A few tips:

1. Check your controls and rebind as necessary until you find something comfortable. Movement is super important and a bad move can send you into a pit or cornered with enemies chopping you to bits. Make sure you have it clear in your mind which keys are for strafe and which are for turning.

2. Choosing your Exo Rig is important and you are stuck with that choice for the rest of the game. A quick overview of the rigs:

Combat: This turns you into a hit and run type, you want to get in, get your hits in and get out. Okay for beginners or people familiar with the genre.
Heavy: You turn into a tank character, great for going toe to toe. You can also do great damage later on as there are weapons that do more damage based off of your max hp. A great beginners choice since it allows for more mistakes.
Thauma: Your mage style gameplay. Using Gadgets for damage primarily. Probably good for a second or third playthrough.
Assault: Not a first time playthrough character type. You get a bit more XP, but you also need to lose health to do more damage, so more of a glass cannon situation.

3. You will have a limited amount of Circuit Points by the end, 17-19 or so. Typically enough to max a couple skills to 5 and get a couple more to 3 if you want. You get a bonus at 3 points in a skill and a choice of 1 of 2 bonuses at rank 5. Point distribution is super important, don't waste points!

4. Regarding the skills here's a quick breakdown

Weapons: Blunt, Blade, Handguns, Rifles. Pick one and stick with it. Keep in mind that Handguns and Rifles require ammo, so keep plenty in stock. Also, you can use weapons without investing points into that skill, however it won't be as effective. Keep melee weapons available if you go handguns or rifles.

Melee: Dual Wielding, Armorer, Blocking, Servo. If you want to Dual Wield or use Shields (Blocking), pick one and ignore the other. Armorer is pretty much HP buffs, but that's pretty good for all characters. Servo is more accuracy and evade.

Thauma: Thauma Catalyzer, Fusion, Complex and Elemental. In short in order, how quickly you can reuse a Gadget, how fast Energy (mp) regenerates, HP and MP bonuses and finally your own bad effect resistances and how long your bad effects last on enemies. If you aren't playing a Thauma character, I would ignore Thauma circuits with ONE major exception. Getting Fusion to level 3 gets you an 8% bonus on all experience gained once you get it, plus you regen MP when you take damage and also you get a Gadget slot. I recommend Fusion 3 for pretty much all builds and to rush Fusion 3 asap. The 8% exp bonus pays off by the end of the game. Along with that, there are items that you can pick up that will give you bonus XP when used. Save them until you get Fusion 3 to get the bonus exp.

Oh, one really good tip is that there are puzzles that require you to drop an item to serve as a weight, you can split off one unit of ammo from a bunch and that works just fine. Since you get dozens of bullets, they are great to use for any puzzles that require said weights.

Fire Emblem Engage

There is a "point of no return" where you go to a church and the game lets you know you will be in for a series of battles. These battles all have the same squad you pick for the first one, and they are a big difficulty spike. Consider doing a little bit of side content before - the second battle of this series has a couple of level 17 people and a level 1 pre-promote join you, so you might want to aim for your main squad to be at around 15-16, which it probably will not be if you are not doing skirmishes.

Petting the dog and giving it food every time you go to the base is 200 guaranteed currency, plus there's a bit more in the grotto.

Going to the ring merge screen when you have an A gacha ring for someone allows you to see what the effects of having an S rank version of that character will be. Some come with extra skills, like S Navarre has an extra crit skill included, some are only stat boosts.

I also have a tip of my own for Persona 5 Royal (and maybe the vanilla version too, I can't remember):

- If you're ever unsure of whether you've already caught a pokemon persona in a dungeon, you can tell by looking at their name when you target them. If you already caught them and have them sitting in your roster in the velvet room, the game will show you their actual name (Pixie, Angel, Jack Frost, etc). If you haven't caught them yet, it will show you some kind of obfuscated nickname instead ("Foul Temptress" or "Sneaky Horseman" or something like that--I forget exactly what names it uses, but it doesn't call them by their real name until you catch them).

I made it to the third dungeon without noticing this, and it's very helpful for deciding what you want to do with a persona in a holdup

I also have a tip for the SA forums: Alt + S is not the shortcut for strikethrough text, it will just post whatever you've written
