Nah, I’m talking about people residing in illegal apartments. The laws in any place where blood gargling ghouls aren’t in charge generally favor the tenant. More meant to protect people renting a room in someone’s house, not dealing with the former richest man in the world going acting extremely divorced.

Musk is banking that vendors and landlords won't do any of that because it would be far more costly for them to litigate Twitter than to accept the lost revenue and renegotiating deals/rent at a lower rate.

He's trying to play bully on contractors smaller than Twitter.

The buildings Twitter rents would probably be difficult to rent back out, they may sit vacant for a long time.
A thing I've learned working in tech is that, if you're not one of the big three (Amazon, Apple, Google) there is a big disconnect between the impact you can have in the real world/how many people use your product and the amount of money that generates, at least compared to other fields.

Energy, Pharma, Finance, etc are on a complete different level, but large Real Estate is too. I would expect Twitter's HQ to be owned by one of the largest RE conglomerates in each respective country, and their yearly gains are probably orders of magnitude larger that Reddit's.

So unless Musk wants to pay more of his own money to bring this forward, I don't think Twitter can really try to bully someone who owns a third of San Francisco's bricks.

Plus, I imagine when he pisses the wrong person off (given the rate he's been pissing people off, "if" doesn't feel apropos) there'll be every chance he'll be in a Tesla when it "explodes".

Or he'll just be in a Tesla when it actually explodes, all given.

I was curious as to who owns the building (apparently "Shorenstein Properties") and stumbled on an article about financing for it being in some sort of messy state?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/therealdeal.com/sanfrancisco/2022/12/02/twitter-building-faces-deadline-on-400m-refinance/

They do claim to have $8 billion worth of assets, so I am sure they can afford a lawyer or two.

Usually the building envelope, main doors, stairwells, emergency access corridors are controlled by the owner/property manager, inside tenant spaces are mostly Tennent controlled. Often those systems are federated to each other. I'd bet good money its probably a Brivo access control system. Depending on the age of the last remodel of course.

Trump loving despises Musk, so that's not surprising. Also Truther's content moderation standards are lower than the weirdest, grossest, most "wait, how is this even a thing?"-focused image boards out there on the fringes of the internet, so doubly unsurprising.

I mean...the lawsuits are ramping up from several directions. However lawsuits and cases, especially against someone as rich as him, tend to move slow so there's a hell of a lot of time for him to use his billionaire fortune and power to find new lows to sink to before he gets that prison sentence.

Dude's digging deeper and doubling down so hard and so fast, and it's going to take so long to stop him that the fucker might actually hit molten mantle before he's done.

Is this causing any journalists to actually leave twitter permanently in protest yet? The banned ones inevitably coming back on to continue complaining about Elon until he decides to ban them again is going to be almost as pathetic as Elon himself.

People really need to get over their Twitter addictions because at this point you're just giving the owner the exact thing he needs to increase the reach of his right wing shilling and conspiracy theories.

I hadn't realized that but the point kinda still stands. Both wapo and CNN now both released statements and the message is far more in the direction of "we want you to let them back on your site" than it is in the direction of any form of boycott whatsoever.
