When creating new genres people make the mistake of thinking the genres need to be at all descriptive when most genre names are vague as gently caress.

Heat Signature is super fun. It's not a game I ever play obsessively, but it's great to go back to it every now and then, grab a new character, and see what crazy stuff you can pull with the gear you get dealt. It feels fresh every time.

The argument is that it failed because gamers only want a woke lead, a queer female POC or something. Meanwhile God of War sold a shitton of copies and won tons of critical praise.

The game is fun enough if you want an ubisoft type zombie apocalypse game. The hordes are neat. Theres also a mod that increases the size of the hordes if you're into that. The characters call the zombies FREAKERS which made me laugh every time

RBA Starblade posted:Well I beat the Titan Quest Immortal Throne expansion. It wasn't very good lol, just a slog. The added content to the rest of the game was good though and Act 3 was a fine stopping point. Hades was trivial (the pets stopped him from using his "I instantly win" attack I guess) but there was one random giant boss in Hades' Palace that was just invincible and one-shot everything I had so I had to just haul rear end to the end to not get owned by it. Apparently it's just mostly invulnerable to my entire build lol Visually it’s a treat.

I don't know about the remake (yet, I'll probably buy it) but Crisis Core is definitely a full game. In terms of gameplay it's somewhere between ff13, ff7 and ff8. It's a pretty fun game IMO, I've 100% it when it came out which took like 100 hours or so.

err posted:Has a game ever been made where it deletes itself after you die, making it unplayable? There was Lose/Lose which was a space invader thing, but every alien you killed resulted in a deleted file from your computer at random. And if you lose the game it'll delete itself. And there's that urban legend about Killswitch.

May be my favorite PS4 exclusive. It captures the feeling of binging a TV show that starts out really stupid that you hate watch in the first season but finds it’s footing in the second season and transcends in the third season, and you’re beating your chest saying “HELL YEAH” at the end of the third season arc, and then the show gets canceled but not before it does a teaser so dumb that you’re fist pumping at the show runner’s audacity.

Not really the exact thing, but Google has an ongoing programming competition/recruitment tool where the invite criteria are completely obscure (seems to be how much you search for coding questions), and you have to solve problems within a certain time limit. If you fail, you’re out. No way to get back in, your login is disabled. That maybe counts?

I think I only ever heard about it because of the news that the central servers were shutting down, and that was something like four years ago. Would that I had a name to put to it, but it wasn't exactly something I paid close attention to or ever tried myself. fit em all up in there posted:https://www.humblebundle.com/games/best-of-stealth-encore-bundle?partner=nintendeal Ugh, that price is low enough that I'm actually starting to be tempted to give Hitman a shot. Great game or no, that sort of online requirement for a single-player game gets my bile goin'. Also if anyone gets Heat Signature for the first time through this bundle I'd be interested to hear if it shows up in your Humble DRM-free library. It's one of the few games on their storefront that still offers that if you buy through them, but they don't seem to be advertising that for the bundle.
