What did you say the strategy was?
If he does actually stick to it, he'll gently caress things up even more then quir. Gives him enough distance to say "oh no! Look what you did!"

Then loads of people get hosed out of severance and people lose their jobs because the company is gone, and he blames it on you, joe public

My god, it's full of cat!

I don't want Musk to step down. I want him to take a one-way trip to Mars and never touch anything I use again. Him stepping down but still owning twitter is just gonna prolong the site's death. What a pointless loving poll.

Offler posted:

He is still just so loving convinced that he is a super-mega-genius that it doesn't even occur to him to at least hold a brainstorming sesh with some employees before implementing new rules. I guess it wouldn't matter, since I can't imagine there are many people left at Twitter who would dare to ask Elon stuff like "Have you thought about how this would effect users in group x,y and z? You know, users who aren't mainly here to own the libs but for reasons x,y and z."

Hell, just writing down his ideas and spending a day or two thinking about them before announcing them to the world and his employees in the same tweet would probably help a lot, but he so obviously doesn't even do that.

Nope, it's still just straight from Adderall fueled tweeting binge idea right to the non-existing rulebook.

If there are any employees who might have offered feedback left in the company, after all these weeks they've probably learned there's no loving point and are just there to collect a paycheck and keep their visa active. Hard to imagine a more demoralising place to work at than Twitter in terms of having any sort of constructive input.

Seven idiots and a bear walk into a dragon's lair.

Oh wait, is this just because of the Tesla guy calling for his removal as CEO? So he's trying to get out of being in charge of Twitter and "go back" to Tesla (by which I mean he will continue micromanaging Twitter using whatever puppet CEO he sets up)?

Worse.

He's going to put some Republican in charge, and they will enforce their policies and put like-minded people in charge.

Musk then can say he has nothing to do with the running of the site and shouldn't be blamed.

Plus, he'll count on how it's run then to make his running of it not look so bad in comparison.

Right now, Twitter is probably unsalvageable as a company. The damage is done and whoever took over running it after something happens to Musk will have to spend years rebuilding the company, re-establishing the trust, relationships, and employees that, allow Twitter to function as a social media site. And they have to do it while everything is falling apart.

But that's the best case scenario. There's so much fuckery Musk can do by "stepping down" that it's not going to get there. He could just put a puppet in charge of the day to day operations while still dictating his crazy edicts because he owns the company out right. He could burn it down even harder to "punish" people for rejecting him. He could say he'll step down once Twitter is financially stable which it never will be under him. He could just ignore the poll and we mock him even harder.

I know whatever he does, it will be stupid.

Who would want to be tasked with running Twitter with Elon as owner/poster?

Is that going to be like when Medvedev was "president" or Russia?

I appreciate your patience, this is a tricky maneuver
He hasn’t wanted to be in charge of this sinking ship since he first bid on it. Whether he keeps the CEO label or not, the outcome will be identical. I’m guessing he found his “Blake Masters type” to finally take the his place in the daily Twitter scrotum pinada game and will be CEO in name or only in practice shortly

Vote yes, not because Elon will actually honor it, but because the meltdown it'll precipitate will be glorious. No matter how you vote he's still gonna do whatever the gently caress he had planned (insofar as he plans anything at all) but this will have the added schadenfreude of the world's most divorced man try to post through the rejection of his "leadership" in the most public way possible.

Based on this:

That's my guess--take his ball and go home. Twitter is in a death spiral one way or the other, this lets him do a puppetmaster on the way out.
