Anyway why is he having a public brainstorming session with this Hotz guy who accomplished nothing and has already resigned from Twitter?

Why is he not consulting with like ... his actual employees, instead of this weirdo he hired off the street?

Elon, if prevailing economic conditions mean there's no benefit to be a public company owner there's a very simple solution you should take the lead on.

Hotz wanted to sell his technology to Tesla Motors, meeting with CEO Elon Musk.[47][48] Hotz claims that Musk offered him $12 million (minus $1 million for every month it took Hotz to work on the task) to create a driving system that could replace the MobilEye solution that Tesla used at the time.[49] Tesla later released a statement on their website citing corrections to the Bloomberg article, stressing that their autopilot system was developed in-house, with a vision chip component from MobilEye, instead of one separate autopilot system manufactured by MobilEye, as suggested by Bloomberg reporter Ashlee Vance.[47] Musk offered advice on Hotz's self-driving car project in a December 2015 interview.[50]

Hotz has been suckling Musk's dingaling for the better part of a decade

Any body left at Twitter is looking for another job, is incredibly busy wiring money to family in their origin country to make sure they aren't homeless when they whole thing falls apart, or has a head so completely vacuous Musk is going to bring them into SpaceX for vacuum testing parts when all this is done.

Wasn't Hotz's idea that search results would take the form of replies to a tweet or something? I remember it was some incredibly dumb idea where it would essentially be a tweet thread of answers, the meme of people posting searches as status updates but for real. And then he demanded his followers did his homework for him on how to fix search

On October 27, 2016, the NHTSA informed Hotz that the product was legally required to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and requested information that would confirm such compliance.[51] A day later, George Hotz tweeted from Shenzhen that the comma one was cancelled.[52][53][non-primary source needed] Kristen Lee stated on Jalopnik that the NHTSA was simply trying to open a dialog, and commented: "Instead, they got the worst attitude possible from Silicon Valley: try and regulate us, thought leaders, and we’ll take our ball and go home."[54]

Someone please use this to maneuver Elon into making tweets render HTML, I want to watch that hilariously break everything.

A long time ago the Tory party in the UK let someone's nephew who is good with computers design a campaign site that had a hand-rolled live feed of any tweets containing a particular hashtag.

It wrote them straight into the HTML of the page and about an hour after it launched opening the site would spawn dozens of goatse popups and embedded Gary Glitter midis. It was beautiful.

Ye-ess...but if you're going to write a history book, you should be capable of doing actual historical research. And therefore reading the sort of thing you just linked instead of doing the Michael Gove 'I can fly a fighter plane because I was a journalist for the Times' thing. Journalists are a sort of bit notorious for that, thinking that they know as much as an actual expert who's been studying a field for a decade because how hard can it be I can just bullshit it?
