Wait PC ARAM doesn't give you all champs? Laffo. Mobile gives you all champs in ARAM no matter what so you can't game it with your champion pool

Then they changed it so ARAM selection now pulls from your owned champs plus the last 3 free rotations so even if you only have one champ fully unlocked there's still a possible 48 champs you can draw.

Both work well as counterpicks in certain situations (generally enemy heroes that cant reach them, or in Teemo's case rely too much on autoattacks/AA-derived effects for trades), Teemo received a bunch of very nice buffs a good few patches ago that make him excellent in certain matchups. You might have a bad time first/blind picking them, though.

ARAM is easily the best game mode in League and it is great that they can finally balance it properly. A semi-functional ranked ARAM ladder would throw my League addiction back into its season 3-4 days

Also, here's the important part, you could not edit these pages in champion select. And some champions needed a specific rune page that wasn't a generic role based rune page, and if you didn't have that specific runepage ready ahead of champion select you were just at a major disadvantage for no reason. I'm guessing part of the issue is that they don't know who paid ip and thus blue essence for runepages and who paid actual real money, and people already have mountains of blue essence from champ shards + the rune refund anyway. Also I feel like they could have run the essence emporium forever the same way as the mythic store but obviously that doesn't get them money so lol no thanks, also it probably crashed the client... again. It's frankly amazing how they managed to make the worst client twice.

You really only needed an AD set and a AP set for runes but people insisted it was impossible to play league without a spellvamp quint and scaling crit yellows or something dumb. You really only needed two pages and anything else was pretty excessive That being said the existing rune system is absolutely better

Exactly, you could "make due" with the two generic pages, but you'd then not have a page without MR for going against full AD teams or HP scaling yellows for going against full AP teams, or you couldn't play Akali optimally with hybrid AD/AP to hit her specific breakpoints at the start of the game for her passive and the insane lvl 1 power boost that came with it and dozens of other champs that had min/maxed runepages with real benefit or matchup runepages. And while you spend all your IP on runes and runepages to hold the runes your champ collection would stagnate while the roster got bigger by the week. edit: didn't even see someone mentioned old akali already, that's how big it was for her.
