Close. 1st degree is a scorch tonthe outer layer of skin. 2nd degree penetrates the outer layer and scorches the inner layer. 3rd degree penetrates both layers and scorches the tissue underlaying the skin. 4th degree penetrates all these layers into muscle or possibly bone. A key marker of a 4th degree burn is that it doesn't hurt, because there are no longer any nerves there to transmit pain. 4th degree burns all over your body is, as Roast Beef says, a situation where you can reasonably be considered unlucky to survive.

Gnoman posted:Close. Someone said that Achewood is originally Finnish? In Finland there are three degrees of burns: First is just a red skin and it hurts, second degree is when you get boils and it hurts more, third is what you describe as 4th, where you are pretty much locally charred. That will still hurt on the edges of the burn, though. For the record, you should see a doctor if you get a 2nd degree burns larger than your palm or any 3rd degree burn. There's a severe possibility of shock in large burns.

Alternatively, just say your webcomic is a parody and the likeness to any trademarked characters are purely for satirical purposes through fair use and has no association to any existing copyrights. And on that note, I have delved into the depths of the webtoons code to bring the thread Scoob and Shag. It goes places.

Hark! A Vagrant delves into American history in today’s update. Ah, Andrew Jackson. Love him or hate him (and these days my money is on the latter), you can’t deny that he was a fascinating man. He did some good things. He did a lot of bad things. And it’s not like in his time, no one thought to duke it out with him over it all. The man had so many musket balls in his body you could stick magnets to him. He strikes me as a figure not often talked about anymore when it comes to celebrating the history of the Presidency, regardless of fact that he once was (still is? depends on where you are maybe? no idea) prominent among the ‘greats’ and his long, weird face is on every 20 dollar bill in your (American) wallet. I mean the man is visible. I could be wrong too, seeing as I am not an American. But you don’t really want to bring him up the way you would Washington or Roosevelt or whoever, because you don’t want to open that can of Indian-Removal-Act worms. At comic shows I ask people sometimes to pick a favorite president to draw, it’s almost never Jackson. I, like many others, can admire a few things about Jackson. But not the package. He did what he thought was good and right to do and he made himself something out of nothing, but he was a hard, racist man, and he doesn’t get to be a hero anymore. In a way I am glad that he’s such a conflicting figure, because most of the time you can’t have it one way or the other. Not all of our historical leaders deserve Nobel Peace Prizes decorating their houses, not all of our heroes get recognized for the wrongs they did like Jackson does. Some real late oughts “this terrible person was complicated!” liberalism in this post instead of “this guy was just a huge piece of poo poo” you’d get about Jackson today. A little comic update. I love political cartoons, I love studying them. And at times, as you may recall, I enjoy poking fun at them. They’re almost as fun as statues. Gorey covers were so fun, I thought I’d give another kind a spin. When I was about 10 years old, I was put in the hospital for about two weeks. The only things they had to read there were the entire collection of Nancy Drew books, and I think I must have read all of them at that time. A funny thing about Nancy Drew is that even though I read all her books, there was that unwritten rule that Nancy Drew was for girls and Hardy Boys were for boys, so I’ve never read a Hardy Boys book. The boys in my class were very firm on this point. Calvin and Hobbes was also “for boys” for some reason (probably because Calvin hates girls), and so was a series of books called Dragon Lance. The Dragon Lance books always had some mega buff dude on the cover doing hero stuff, and though I was curious about them and maybe a little jealous since I was stuck reading Sweet Valley High, I suspect that in the end they were probably pretty bad. A guest comic today, you guys! From the wonderful Rebecca Clements of KinokoFry - who treats us with not one, but four comics on her site! And three for me today! I must say, she has a talent to mimic my scribbles. Enjoy!
