The 30+ hours of hurricane force winds really did a number on stuff. Like we got 20 inches of snow or 'a mild storm'. The major impact was it was in the single digits with blowing snow and zero foot visibility. Buffo got about 48inches. Snow and wind is a land of contrasts,. I've been through a bunch of hurricanes, but at no point have I ever dealt with 30 hours of sustained hurricane force winds. Add to that the blinding snow and yeah, people are going to die.
