Do other countries have their version of Waffle House (a chain restaurant with many locations serving crap diner-type food and known for being open late and fistfights more than the actual food quality)? Or is it just like, "the local pub" or something? What I am asking is, do people throw hands at the Tim Hortons?

Remember how chuds were filming themselves in fast food restaurants yelling at the cashiers about mask policies? Ever see them attempt that in a Waffle House?

Australia doesn't really have a homegrown chain as such (unless you count Hungry Jacks which is just a burger king re-skin) so McDonalds and KFC fill that ecological niche. We still get some skirmishes from the Portuguese Chicken Uprisings but from what I can tell Oporto's is maintaining a steady rule over Nando's despite Ogalo's small but tasty insurgency.

People have mentioned a bunch of late night Aussie chains but none of them really have the reputation that Waffle House seems to have for rage. I think the fact that drunk people are more likely to get a kebab and just get into mischief wherever they are rather than have a late night chain as the centre is at least partially to blame for that.

I'll confess that I'm just talking out of my rear end, as I've never eaten at Waffle House OR Dennys. It seems...difficult to gently caress up hash browns, so that'd probably be my go-to. I've only eaten at Ihop a handful of times, like a woman of culture. https://twitter.com/aliyahInterlude/status/1607832567579029504 https://twitter.com/aliyahInterlude/status/1607832576131043330 https://twitter.com/insultsrare/status/1607845947626721287

Owlkill posted:Maybe Wetherspoons in the UK? Nobody fights in a Spoons because its either for casuals wanting a curry club meal deal, or terminals who think it's a waste of drinking time. For the real ultra-violence you want to find a city centre McDonald's. One of the 24hr locations with bouncers and all the tables hidden upstairs so they can close it off. Something about the white tiles and endless touchscreens activates the lizard brain and next thing you're having to fight an entire hen party who want to shank you with plastic cock tiaras.
