At least some of the grift-squad have figured out that defending Tate isn't exactly a great look. So far the only defense talking point I've seen consistently is "what about Epstein?" which...I mean yeah that's not exactly a defense. So it's easier to just attack Greta instead, they still have all their old talking points so it's like a comfy old sweater for them. Since a large part of Elon's business model is based on saving the environment he can't really do that without raising a bunch of Tesla buyers' eyebrows I'd think. Not to mention she'd likely demolish him with a throwaway shitpost anyway, he can't take that chance.
