In Fire Emblem's current True Hit™ system, a displayed 12% hit chance translates into an actual 3% hit chance. And I'm imagining a version of Disco Elysium that uses that kind of thing... In that game you often come across skill checks that you are too unskilled to normally pass, but it will still show you have a 3% chance of succeeding, because the game rolls two six-sided dice and you automatically succeed if you get double sixes (roughly a 3% chance). If they instead showed a 12% chance, as Fire Emblem does...

It looks goofy in turn-based games but it helps to remember: turns represent 5-10 seconds of action where everyone is actually constantly moving; the enemies you face tend to have superhuman reflexes; and it is actually physically difficult to sight an enemy with a rifle at point blank range

I'm pretty sure that clip is glitched; when the soldier gets right up in the aliens face that should be a flank (and like 95% hit chance) but for some reason he's counted as still being in full cover. It's still hilarious though

It's actually working as intended to describe what CF said. There's an extreme penalty to using anything but shotguns at a one tile distance in XCOM 2 It's also extremely funny yeah lol

One of the first video games I ever owned was Mega Man X6, and I have a soft spot for it and want to replay it now and then, but because it's so absolutely atrocious I often stop myself. However, I just found out about the Mega Man X6 Tweaks Patcher and I'm amazed how just how many customizable options it allows. Like, it might actually let you make the game fun and I'm beyond psyched. I'm starting by turning off almost every Nightmare Effect lol.

Finally playing P5R after it came out on the Switch- didn't expect another run thru P5 to be quite so engrossing but the R changes do just enough on top of an already good game to make it work for me Mementos hasn't quite been overhauled but enough stuff (including Ryuji's new? instakill skill on weak mobs) has been tweaked that it doesn't feel like a chore anymore- maybe I'm just hankerin for a good ol' dungeon crawl or something Also going through again I don't really dislike any of the main characters and can't decide who to keep in the party/max out Confidant ranks with first Do wish they really did more of a script rewrite on some of the more flat/lazy localizations but can't have everything

First Resident Evil I played was the arcade one? Was that 1? The one that has the lady shouting,"SUFFER LIKE G DID!" ??? Anyways, I never played another till I got 4 on Gamecube. Loved it enough to buy it on Steam when it came out, fully intend to buy the remake when it comes out this year and play it again. 4 is a very, very, very good game! I played 5 and remember NOTHING about it, never got around to 6 though I do own it (remember when Steam accidentally put up 4, 5 and 6 for like $1?) and intend to play it eventually, but not till after I play the 3 remake now that I've enjoyed the 2 remake so much.
