I don't know how long they've been up, but he digitized all his stuff for his website so at least it won't get lost into the ether. I'm guessing they were just processed from the existing DVDs but yeah going back to source on those would be a good snapshot of adult filmmaking done right for sure.

Does anyone know if 88 Films does big sales at a set time every year (akin to, e.g., the B&N Criterion sales)? I ask because I'm about to drop money on their 4K of Supercop and Dragons Forever, and then the In the Line of Duty box set and wanted to know if I should wait a bit to save some money.

88 Films does sales at their UK website periodically. As someone who has been collecting their releases since they started, I'd advise not waiting. Stuff they release can become hard to find quickly.

I watched the trailer for Tragedy Girls, and I could've sworn I've seen it before but it didn't look familiar (had definitely heard of it though). I probably just confused it with all the other recent zoomer genre films set in high schools like Freaky and Assasination Nation.

Looks good though, ordered!

It's fun, it's almost like "twee horror" or something. I liked it. Haven't looked at any of the bonus material yet though.

Does anybody know of a rights issue that might be preventing a UHD release for The Exorcist? It's the 50th anniversary this year, and I just saw that Exorcist III is getting a UHD in a few months, but so far the first film hasn't been announced, which is odd.

Synapse did a bunch of Nikkatsu films under their Impulse Pictures sub label, mostly on DVD but a few were Blu-rays. On their podcast about a year ago, Jerry claimed they didn't sell well so they probably aren't going to do anymore. I bought them all, and can assure everyone that these films are high quality wildly inappropriate sleaze. Mondo Macabro and Arrow have dipped their toes in the Pink genre a few times, but no one has gone deep in yet. When I win the lottery, I'll start a label that only releases Pink / Roman Porno movies.

Oh yeah, I suppose the genre isn't known very well in America. You'd need to increase consciousness of Pink movies first. Maybe get a big movie podcast or youtuber on them. It's a shame RLM doesn't do subtitled movies.

It's already confirmed as coming from Warner directly with both cuts, probably in time for Halloween. It's possible that II will get a Shout! Factory upgrade.

Worth noting that III/Legion, The Beginning, and Dominion are Morgan Creek properties and Shout! Factory recently took over North American distribution of their catalog. Sony was previously the distributor (after the lengthy deal with Warner expired about a decade ago), so apparently their editions are going OOP, but it shouldn't affect sublicensed titles like True Romance.

Hopefully it’ll be part of tomorrows 10 for $10.

For todays picks, Xtro 3 is okay. Looks like an early 90s TV movie. Very clean transfer, but for the film itself? Eh. Alien looks really cool, so that’s nice.

I don't think its a price glitch I think its just a really small amount of inventory or too many people found out. Yesterdays was Naughty Victorians, each other day had some too. There was another one for today "Norway" but that too was price raised.

Apparently that's just a mix up as they changed the price back to normal. There's a good chance it'll be that price tomorrow though.
