I think this game is dead and small enough that it's time to turn on all chat for qm/aram (hell maybe everything). I rarely run into toxic people these days (with some exceptions) and it'd be nice because I see a lot of the same players I'm friendly with on the other team that would be fun to banter with.

Enemy chat isnt toxic because you're rude to opponents. It's because people on losing team A will start insulting their own team in some freaky attempt to curry favor with team B.

Last night I had someone PM me after the game was over to call me a loser for backdooring the 9% core in ARAM while his team had 2 bots, so if you play with someone named UCant, muss their hair or something for me because he ended the message with “#noucant” lol Before you take his side, I was Lucio just backing a dvas play.

Come play this game, there's still /SAGoons channel to group up. Independant of that, there are a bunch of chill people playing still, growing list of people active for ARAM and sometimes QM groups. ARAM is getting competitive with more veteran players hanging around (and less new I assume). Ngl sagoons channel not often populated, but that's why I'm writing this! put a lot of hours into this game. i think the thing that made it stand out for me was basically "MOBA but with a map rotation and no last hits." i also enjoyed most of the specialists. hope someone down the line rips off murky's playstyle, its too fun to die i never got good at illidan but i never gave up until i stopped playing the game altogether. also shout out to my first main dude zeratul rip

Murky rules so hard, no character could ever come close to how much fun I have as him. Garrosh was my number 2, because it is literally always hilarious throwing some chump backwards into my group behind me. Although he wasn't as fun when they removed his ability to pull the enemy instead of simply stunning them. Me and my friend would often run a Garrosh/Kerrigan combo and it would be nasty

Pretty rad folks. I have more free time with winter (sort of) being here, finally got 1000 gems for a month boost, and a big friends list of (usually) chill folks who like ARAM and sometimes QM. Gonna play HOTS a lot I reckon. Add me BRJohnson #1911 I don't care if you suck and most people I play with likely don't either, we frequently coach people in game on builds and techniques for a character they're not familiar with. Joined SAGoons as well, in-game name is Fitz. HotS has been my go-to for something to play while listening to podcasts for years even if it's only quickmatch and ARAM, I'm passable with most characters.

I have some inarticulate criticism about a few of the (regular mode) maps, but the core gameplay is way more fun and accessible to me. I don't have a powerful computer, accurate last hitting timing is tedious and frustrating. And it's all these characters from games I like (in some iteration). Also, Medivh joins Zephyr for ‘Amazing MOBA ideas that were built in the wrong title’. Medivh is genuinely one of the most fun, broken, stupidly good Heroes I’ve ever seen in any MOBA, ever, and has such a wonderfully high skill ceiling when played as a Ranged Assassin, and 90% of the people you see playing him play as the very sub-par Support he really isn’t. You save people occasionally with W - That button is for you, friendo.

I never see "all one hero" in Aram anymore, but multiples is still great for some picks. Melhisto and gazlowe in twos or threes is so demoralizing as to be OP (after lvl 20 in gazlowes case)

Most one-sided ARAM I ever played our team had 4 Zagaras. They had no chance, never managed to break through the minion spam in any meaningful way.

I had a 4heals + butcher once that was a fun stomp. Had an opportunity to do it again today but my team didn't go for it Enemy team had Johanna though so I guess it wouldn't have worked as well.

Ever since I spent my gems on that boost and resolved to play every night like a second job, suddenly I see a lot more toxicity. People being like "kick them they suck I won't play with them", or being dicks about a party member's talent choices. I feel like it's somehow my fault and I apologize. I swear, before I had a boost people were friendly and helpful!

Sometimes you just run into a couple nights in a row where everyone playing is an rear end in a top hat. My friend and I will hit a couple nights where every game has someone trash talking teammates and then we’ll go a week or two with no jerks, who knows. A few years ago I used the free name change to make my name “Dad” and while I’m tired of the “when are you coming back from getting cigarettes?” jokes, it’s really funny when someone tries to say “kys dad you suck”. I don’t banter much but it’s always positive and it helps that I’m good at support/tank so people usually feel bad when they tell me I suck and I end up with mvp.

It is definitely the most toxic on weekends. Unrepentant muting of players at the first sign of being an rear end in a top hat does wonders, although it won't help against people just going AFK of course.

HOTS was so fun, I still think about playing Diablo from time to time and it has been a couple years since I last played. Mastering his combos was a very rewarding journey. I hope someone clones him in another MOBA someday. I hope we get another “casual” MOBA like HOTS, the design decisions of focusing on map rotations, team fighting and short matches made it AAA for me.

If I solo queue aram and we don't pick a tank or healer or w/e, and are getting crushed, yeah at 8 mins when we barely have a fort and a 1:3 kill ratio, I want that poo poo to be over. Don't wanna rage against who picked wrong, just a next game thats better. It's a bad tendency I don't want to give energy to, and when I'm in a five-person group I don't need to. Im getting bonus xp on a team with (usually) chill people.. I do hate seeing that tendency to point the finger at the weakest link or whatever though. If somebody is like "kick them they suck", well...

I've been running a 3 man with some buddies of mine and we have been having a pile of fun going Abathur/Murky/Azmo and just pushing pushing pushing. No one is ready for it and damned if we aren't 14-0 with it now. People just throw themselves at murky as abathur just blocks and spams and Azmo pushes everything down. I've seen a couple teams just start bitching about terrible picks until it's like 6 minutes in and we are pushing their core.
