Very creepy, it then disappeared. We drove by a relay station (pwer booster station). Something had blown out, could smell it.

They also seem too regularly spaced and identical to be multiple genuine lights. Would like to know whether she has triple or double glazing. Going to go with helicopter with a spotlight for this one.

They're saying the Cambrian explosion might just be an artifact of how fossils were formed and the timeline of the evolution of complex traits needs to be pushed back for almost everything, even that there may have been "advanced" human cultures that left almost no trace. The old idea of humans showing up and wrecking the joint is in many cases wrong or more nuanced and there are examples of humans and really exotic seeming megafauna coexisting totally fine and reasonably... until habitat change because of humans started loving poo poo up bad. Seems like us modifying the environment is as major or even more important than direct hunting and things like that. It's pretty amazing that they have been able to gene sequence the elephant bird and it could possibly have been alive even 500 or 1k years ago, and there are a lot of examples like that. Really seems like unchecked greed was a real fuckup and might have kicked in and become dominant only recently on the timeline of human cultures. We just don't know what the past was like with anything remotely similar to the certainty we thought we did.
