Lourdes Turcios Garcia, 40, passed away on January 7 after being hit by a truck on January 5.

Authorities said Garcia was pushing a child in a stroller near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Hawthorne Street when they were both struck by someone in a large pickup truck. Both were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police.

The child lived through the incident and has since been released from the hospital, police say.

The crash remains under investigation by the Forest Grove Police Department.
