Our house, built 1931, came with a lot of boob lamps. I'm not being precious about what I replace them with. The kitchen/dining room, facing the sea, got mastectomies and a set of these. I highly recommend these for places where you want bright but inconspicuous fixtures. Can be set to three different warmth/lumen combinations. For our bedroom, I wanted to go a bit snazzier. I haunted Etsy and Ebay and eventually bought this, which probably dates to the 1940s or so.   I love its little cotton socks.
