so i thought it would be a very good idea to actually read through the whole thing before continuing posting it. Drop Out is really not a Comic About Lesbians so much as it is a comic that explores what it means to be who you are and what that looks like for people who don't know who they are yet. It's incredibly gripping in some places and the drama is pretty well executed.

The plot up to this point is two girlfriends decide life sucks- everything is painful, and they barely know what it's like to feel normal without the assistance of drugs or medication so Sugar comes up with a plan where they can both die together at the same time- throw themselves hand in hand into the grand canyon. It's very morose but i think it's a very powerful comic. The ending is harrowing and had me crying and snotting all over the place. No huge achievement as I'm a bit of a crybaby, but I think that if a comic can have that effect on someone it's worth posting as others may also be moved by it.

without further ado, the road trip continues:

God never names it, sadly. We don't see that name until Part 2 with Straits, who come to think of it, if they got named in this translation I missed it lol

I've already read it before, but it's easy to miss posts in this thread when trying to keep up with it, I often see an update to something I'm reading and click that quote link once or twice when I realize I missed something, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I'm mad at myself for chickening out yesterday, so I'm posting medieval Japanese warlords getting weird about pottery.

This is Hyouge Mono (Comical Fellow). The blurb here is pretty accurate:

Hyouge Mono is... a bit of a strange bird. It's a comedy, but it also features some Game of Thrones tier politics. It's based (loosely) on actual historical events and the characters definitely feel like people from their time, even if it makes them a little difficult to understand at times. I'm honestly not sure why I like it so much, but I do. I do have a couple reservations, but I'll save those for later. This is a long running manga, I'm not committing to posting all of it. I'll just do the first chapter for now.
