yea, makes sense. i ended up getting a few movies each day and adding them to my first order, so i imagine mine was a bit messier than most. obviously i'm in no rush. seems like they've got a good little thing going.

They never process any orders until the sale is completely finished, and the FAQ said most orders won’t ship til late January. I placed an order almost every day but I’m not a subscriber, so I don’t expect mine to ship til the first week of February.

I’ve got a copy of bodies bodies bodies on UHD coming in tomorrow and I’m very excited to return to that one. Watched the Dragons Forever UHD tonight and it’s a great flick. Super rewatchable and I’m looking forward to checking out all those extras. Now someone license Pedicab Driver for UHD already. That’s what I really really want.

The only warning I'd give is that it's obviously a classic Jackie Chan/Sammo Hung flick where the tone is very light and comedic most of the time. As long as you're into that then yea it's definitely blind-buy worthy.

It seems very surprising that the best version of Black Narcissus available is the 2010 Criterion blu. It’s the kind of flick you would have expected to have a restoration since then.

Is there any difference between the Studio Canal 4ks for the Carpenter movies they put out back in 2018 and the ones that Scream Factory has been releasing recently? Someone on a stream I was listening to a few days ago was saying the Scream Factory 4ks are better, which was the first I've heard about that, and I can't find any further confirmation.

I've been saying I want more 90s action on UHD. Yea I don't have any specific info to cite but everything I remember hearing about those Shout Factory UHDs is that they're pretty much the same as the existing ones, at least in terms of the actual movie. Maybe the person you heard on the stream was talking about packaging and special features?

I got that four-pack with Escape From New York / Fog / They Live / Prince of Darkness on sale and I'm very happy with the PQ. Red Eye is a great example of a really simple script that's perfectly cast and acted. It's a great example of how focusing on plot is so misguided.
