OLIVIA (looking at a photo) This is the victim, a thirteen-year-old girl named Emily. She was found in Central Park this morning. FIN (nodding) Cause of death? OLIVIA Strangulation. They both stand up and grab their jackets. INT. CENTRAL PARK - DAY The detectives arrive at the crime scene. They talk to the forensic team and gather information. OLIVIA (to forensic team) What have you found? FORENSIC TEAM LEADER We found traces of DNA under her nails. It doesn't match anyone in the system. OLIVIA (nodding) Thanks. They walk away from the crime scene and sit on a nearby bench. OLIVIA (pulling out a notebook) Emily was a huge fan of a cartoon show called "Rich and Shmorky." FIN (nodding) Let's pay a visit to the creator of the show. INT. RICH AND SHMORKY STUDIO - DAY The detectives walk into the studio and approach the receptionist. OLIVIA We're here to see Jack Rowland. RECEPTIONIST Sure, I'll let him know you're here. They sit down in the waiting area and wait. A few moments later, JACK ROWLAND, a middle-aged man with a chronic bedwetting problem, enters the room. He speaks in a crude and offensive manner reminiscent of a 4chan poster. JACK (sarcastically) What do you want? OLIVIA We're here to ask you some questions about Emily. JACK (shrugging) I don't know any Emily. OLIVIA (pulling out a notebook) She was a fan of your show. We found evidence that she had been in contact with you before her death. JACK (shrugging) So what? FIN (interrupting) We're going to need to take a look around your studio and your computer. JACK (rolling his eyes) Fine. The detectives start to investigate, and as they dig deeper, they discover that Jack has a dark history of abuse and manipulation, and that he had been using his position of power as the creator of "Rich and Shmorky" to groom and exploit young fans of his show, and that he had been using the anonymity of the internet to target and manipulate his victims. INT. POLICE STATION - DAY The detectives have gathered enough evidence to make an arrest. They storm the studio and take Jack into custody. INT. COURTROOM - DAY Jack is on trial for murder, and the detectives testify in court. JACK (shrugging) So what? The jury finds him guilty, and he is sentenced to life in prison. INT. POLICE STATION - DAY The detectives sit at their desks, going through paperwork. OLIVIA (sighing) Justice served. The episode ends with a message about the importance of speaking out against abuse and the dangers of trusting those in positions of power, and the added danger of anonymity in the Internet.

Not bad, but needs a scene where Sam Waterston plays a clip from “Rich and Smorky” for the jury that weirdly sexualizes Rich’s teenage granddaughter in a really uncomfortable way.

It's like social media brains literally can't conceive of a person who does both good things and bad things, when actual reality is full of nothing BUT people who are capable of both I'm not saying Justin did anything good, in fact he definitely has never done anything good. But these people who go "oh I guess this means Andrew Callahan is nothing but a sex pest, his show is now tainted" are just so simplistic One wishes everyone in the world was either all good or all bad but that is just not the world we're in
