The writing and acting in Emancipation was pretty mid but the cinematography was stunning. Some really beautiful shots in there.

I came in very near the end and I missed the entire setup that established the premise so there was this slow realization that it wasn't just a couple one off references that culminated to a terrible realization in the "fake rock ridge" scene.
