most aaa games are just movies that need you to press buttons to advance scenes and they sell like crazy regardless removing the external input i'm sure would just make them better, so why not. it's not like there's a lot of prestige tv coming out based on new original IPs anyway

I haven't watched The Last of Us or played the game but in the same way that you can tell when a book or graphic novel was written to specifically be a pitch for a movie/netflix series, the footage I've seen feels like a game that wants to be compared to prestige TV.

I never played TLOU but Uncharted is definitely a 'the only choice you make is what gun to use between cutscenes' type deal which was still pretty entertaining but definitely closer to movie than game imho
