Nice to see Arsenal have a clear plan B and sign two players for the 1/2 Mudryk. Still need competition for Partey, otherwise solid depth across the squad.

Croatia's first choice right back Josip Juranovic from Celtic to Union Berlin for about £10 million is a done deal .

Good player who I'm sad to see go, but that's a good price for a 27 year old playing for Celtic and we've already signed a good replacement in Alistair Johnston.

Giorgos Giakoumakis will also likely leave the club before the window ends, with us rumoured to be looking at signing South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu as a replacement.

Crickets out of Liverpool. Arsenal and Chelsea make all these signings, and all we got was Gakpo

Yeah but all of Chelsea's signings including £100m for one guy and they still drew to you yesterday. I'm not sure a slightly lower rate of buying people is the issue, though you could argue it demoralises fans who were already feeling the season slip away.

Both teams would now be happy to sign Gakpo I think; they just didn’t get there quickly enough.

I don't think FSG have ever liked doing signings in January, I've always got the impression that the club thinks players are always overvalued in midseason and so they'll only sign somebody then if they think it's a price they would have got in the summer anyway, like with Gakpo.

something that's not overvalued: qualifying for the champions league, for which they need a new midfield

Gakpo is not at Arsenal’s level. He wouldn’t sniff the first team.

This is better because they'll still have the existing deals handicapping them 7 years in the future without the ability to stretch the next bunch of deals out a few decades

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
Sounds to me like the only responsible course of action is to liquidate Chelsea, convert Stamford Bridge into community parkland, send all the players packing to the Mongolian third division, and fire the fan base into the sun
