It would still be bad, and I realize there's no plot if national militaries just flatten population centres during the first week, but the genre always makes it out like it's an unsurmountable problem when I'd expect a result about on par with Omdurman, even if the first day was more similar to Khartoum.

it depends on what kind of zombies they are. if they have unlimited sprint and infinite health barring piercing brain trauma and can still be mobile as just an arm/shoulder/head and a bite or scratch turns you within 10 seconds I think a healthy majority of people would be hosed. one mistake would be ruinous to any safe zone and there will of course be plenty of mistakes

if it's just slow walkers and it takes hours for a person to zombify there'd be one or two disastrous outbreaks a grip of little ones and then massive power outages nearby/supply chain issues everywhere else

it was pretty good timing but Nortons character is an amalgam of Steve Jobs, Elizabeth Holmes, Elon musk, Jack Dorsey, etc. there was even this if you missed it

https://twitter.com/EdwardNorton/status/1610520222586535936

that said with current events most people are looking at musk but really I didn’t think it was musky, there was far more Dorsey type poo poo. Elon sucks rear end but to his credit (lol) he’s not really into the billionaire hippy woo woo ilovemothergaia poo poo facade the way others are, instead he’s just blatantly evil and dumb and doesn’t really pretend otherwise.

does musk even own a private island?

e: forgot Larry Ellison and John MacAffee. I actually didn’t think “musk” more than once the whole movie.

I'm sorry whenever I see someone that everyone thinks is a tech genius with more money than god but who is actually just incredibly, indescribably stupid, i'm going with Musk. The theme of the movie was just how dumb the guy was.

The rest of those people, while not super smart, haven't revealed themselves to be as dumb as Musk, yet. Probably they are dumb too, but musk being so incredibly stupid was the discourse right when the movie came out.

And yeah I recognize he also wore the same outfit as Tom Cruise in Magnolia in there too, that it's a lot of amalgamized dipshits

before his recent hard pivot to the right he when he was still trying to brand himself as a socialist he portrayed Tesla and his solar panel company as the market-based solution to global warming, which is exactly the 21st century equivalent to hippie dippie crystals and ley line bullshit

its not really one take tho. its still impressively edited, and this kind of intense editing has a lot of benefits over a purely one-shot film, but its not as impressive as it looks. check out victoria for a 120 minute long one-shot with a multitude of locations and some genuinely impressive setpieces

just kidding I already watched all the round tables like I do every year. I just like that Nick Nightingale made Tár

it's funny that the male actors have like 4 million views already and then the producers have 54 thousand, like a tenth of a percent

the producer one said Lynch flatly refused to act in Spielberg's film so he sent Laura Dern to beg him which is extremely wily
