The sea foam green on the avii 57 is my favorite color though. they seem to be coming out of the factory more blue added than the vintera sea foam green and god it’s so good. It’s really a shame that’s only on a $2000 guitar

Yeah, if you can tell me your story of personal misfortune about how you chipped your years old main axe it's actually cool.

I have an old (when they were terrible) strat that I flipped lefty and rewired to bypass the pickup selector so all 3 pickups are always active. Anyway I used to kinda slam the back of my dano into the stage at the end of a set, not like an overhead swing but more like bash the bottom near the strap button downward? Anyway my dano was always unphased by that because it's particle board and thick plastic binding tape, but my strat cracked a huge piece of finish off, exposing the raw poplar. Later I was tossing a grill spatula to someone while wearing the same guitar and the edge clipped the guitar in the same spot and took another big chunk out.

edit this was over 20 years ago jesus

Diabetes, you are not invited to my pizza party.
I have the am pro 2 tele in black and put an aged pearl pickguard on it and it’s beautiful and I love it.

BUT

what if I had another am pro 2 tele in white? Cause that one is also gorgeous.

E: realistically if I want the white one I should probably find someone to do a straight trade with, huh

Went to Guitar Center to try some Jazzmasters and found the Jaguars way more comfortable. I guess I like shorter scale guitars? They only had the Jaguar in sea foam green. I like this white one that’s on Sweetwater, but am not crazy about the tortoise pickguard. It’d be easy to swap that out for one that’s a different color right? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/JagCVF60OW--squier-classic-vibe-60s-jaguar-electric-guitar-olympic-white-sweetwater-exclusive

Also, I wanted to try one of the Affinity Jazzmasters but they didn’t have any. Based on a bunch of reviews I’ve read they play better than the Classic Vibe Jazzmasters out of the box at like half the price. Plus, I like the Lake Placid blue option https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/JazzAffLPB--squier-affinity-series-jazzmaster-lake-placid-blue-with-laurel-fingerboard

...That's kind of where I was going, a Jazzmaster AND a Jaguar, eventually. As was recommended in the thread, I did a setup and restring on my old Ibanez GAX70 with 9's, and it's way easier to play for my dumb, old, big beginner hands. Once I get better maybe i'll upgrade to one or both.

I’d recommend the Jaguar first then eval if you actually need both, I was very surprised how versatile it is if you actually use the controls. I think the only use I consider a JM for is if I ever get tired of forcing my mustang into such a low tuning it is not meant for (it is kinda clunky to play with how it must be setup) and want something with the scale length to handle it better

Stupid question: I have my Orange Rocker 15 tube combo. I actually really like the distortion tone on it. It just feels a bit dry and not a lot of sustain for solos. It sounds great for gritty 70s rock like AC/DC. But I want a little more body/sustain/texture on the upper register of notes for solos. I'm assuming a reverb pedal will achieve this for me at least as a first step right?

Get a overdrive like a tube screamer or something(DS1, klon clone, etc) type of thing to run in front of the amp and get a delay and reverb for the effects loop. Instant lead tone(s).

Joyo/ Behringer/Donner stuff is dirt cheap and awesome.

I highly recommend getting a bunch of cheap pedals. It rules.

Another route is a Helix Stomp or Boss ME-50 type of multi effect unit. Get all the options and figure out what you like.

I don't think the amp has an effects loop. Get a boost/drive/distortion pedal. Reverb will make it sound like your guitar is in a cave; not necessarily bad but probably not what you're looking for.

Would a compressor not be a good shout for someone looking for more sustain? Not the most exciting pedal, but I've found mine a game changer.

It could be, but I'm guessing they really secretly want more gain and not just to make the trails a little louder, and the right boost/gain/drive/distortion/whatever could also get them that brightness.

Does anyone with better ears than me know what's going on in Atlantic City by Bruce Springsteen in terms of tuning? I'm pretty sure it's Em/G/C/G with a capo on the second fret, but it sounds ever so slightly off.

Hmm. I had been looking at Tribute Comanches, but poking around a little about the Fallout suggests to me I should try one of those out.

if it didn't require special routing I'd find a way to put the fallout bridge on every guitar I own. It makes the guitar. Why any guitar has any other bridge on it is nonsense now that I have seen its light

You're exactly right but it's a Cadd9 voicing, so keep your ring and pinky on the top D and G and just move the root up to C (relative to capo).

I am definitely not in the market for another guitar right now, but if I were, I would be deeply torn over deciding between one of those in sonic blue, shell pink, or seafoam green
