Kids are still riding bikes all the gently caress over the place and conservatives never seem to notice this. Like in reality it's not eight year olds or whatever so much as middle schoolers and young high schoolers. Because it's still the best pre-car way to get around town and hang out, and much cooler than asking for mom to take you in the van. But that's exactly why you won't ever see them go away until hover-boards.

Mike Smith sometimes makes forays into actually good cartoons, yeah. A few older ones that I think haven't been posted: 1 2 3 4 But then, of course: 5 6 And a bunch of things that are basically the same as those Hitch cartoons, but with less complex art and less heinous politics: 7 In case you're curious, here's an interview with him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs7eEyRVRZ4

I think, or at least it's the case for me, it's so hard to look at because there's nothing to draw the eye more than anything else, it's just a bunch of flat, grotesque faces smushed next to each other and staring directly at the viewer, each no more and no less attention grabbing than the last, and they're all talking, so there's not even a speech bubble for distraction. At least when Ramirez fills his cartoons full of endless lovely details, they're not all the same.

Ah yes, a shaken, fearful woman turning to drugs peddled by the same people who instilled that fear in the first place. This is a good thing, apparently. Seeing her huffing from a gas tank in a "hopium den" is good. Also pretty wild how feds are everywhere but pose literally no threat whatsoever, Ishida is really a master of his craft. Visual and structural metaphor just of the highest quality.

So the past year or so of Sinfest has been about how society is actually like pills peddled by the(((nefarious elites)) that make you deranged and indoctrinated and make you see a false version of reality, and that's bad, but now the author's worldview is like a pill peddled by ??? that makes you deranged and indoctrinatedand see a false version of reality, and that's good?

Does Tatsuya ever actually write anything, like a little blurb to go with the cartoons, or a blog somewhere or even just posts on a forum? Where he actually has clear thoughts on what he thinks?

He's trying this minimal style that doesn't work because it's the comic equivalent of radio macros. You're just supposed to know what he means when he shows the signs and he will post the symbols over and over E: you ever watch a Sean jannity clip? Whenever a Bad Thing would happen it would be "that's it? Remember soros, solindra, acorn, and pronouns? And not a peep. But Bad Thing?
