Helium is commercially produced from natural gas, and there's been a recent shortage because the production facilities have been shut down for one reason or another (mechanical failure, war in Ukraine, etc). We will never "run out" of helium. Helium is produced by the radioactive decay of uranium and thorium, both of which are abundant and have half-lives of billions of years, and it exists in equilibrium concentrations in the atmosphere. If the price rose high enough we could produce it via air distillation, just like we produce the other noble gases (He exists at lower concentrations than neon or argon, but at much higher concentrations than xenon and krypton).
