They bring up this particular case a lot, in which child porn of some boy stayed up and couldn't get taken down because of copyright reasons? I mentioned this in USCE the other night, but I listened to the whole BTB series on True Allegiance over the course of a rather slow work week and it is indeed a great dive into not just Ben Shapiro's psyche, but his utter lack of even basic skill at writing. From broad stroke things like setting scenes and character beats, to keeping scenes fixed to one character's POV without wandering off to someone else with no transition, to even small things like how he sucks at just forming sentences, they cover it all. The most hilarious part though is how for a book that's supposed to be about how awesome Ben's idealized Mary Sue self insert protagonist is, the story ends with him losing, like really badly, and all of Ben's enemies; Muslims, terrorists, Hillary Clinton, China, Mexico, Black Lives Matter; all taking massive Ws. Hell the evil BLM dude scores the biggest win in the whole story, becoming the de facto King of the Midwest and implementing his diabolical scheme to... put more black and community based officers on police forces across the country to try and cut down on the number black people murdered by the cops...? Huh? tl;dr Ben Shapiro is pants pissing scared about a lot of irrational poo poo and True Allegiance walks you through his thought process step by step of how he turns those things into problems that need to be eliminated at all costs with deadly, unquestionable force. The portrait of the mind of a tiny young-ish fascist.

The BLM storyline in True Allegiance is weird because it's kind of pointlessly tacked on, doesn't really pay off in a way that resonates with the rest of the story, is insanely racist, and yet there are glimmering moments in it where Ben almost loving gets it before he slides back into his bullshit because he knows that trying to paint people advocating for the basic right to live as monsters is evil but the chain of neurons in his little sociopath brain just don't quick make that last connection to complete the realization. gently caress me, I've had this book and all its horribleness stuffed inside my brain for like two weeks now and it's all just pouring out uncontrollably. My favorite villain in True Allegiance is the BLM Kingpin because his diabolical plan only makes sense if you are a KKK Grand Dragon level racist. What is his America-crumbling plan? To stage a police murder of a little black boy so he can harness the public outrage to...reform the Detroit Police by hiring black cops to do community policing. How is community policing evil exactly? Well you see the only way to hire black officers is to lower the standards and let criminals join of course.
