My favourite part of this map is the hotspot in the Netherlands that presumably is mostly fuelled by British/American tourists off their heads on :catdrugs:

The thing that doesn't make sense to me if these objects are actually extraterrestrial is that their flight behavior doesn't seem at all to match the volume of incident descriptions with incredible maneuvers and speeds. Basically untouchable.

But these are just floating along at low speed and just sitting ducks for a missile.

So if they were to be alien, what's the explanation? Malfunctioning craft, or some new type we never noticed before?

I'd presume it is a database with an English front-end report form. That doesn't explain the heat just across the English channel or the relative lack of heat in Australia but otherwise the map lines up pretty well with "where people who speak English live".

ufos are sometimes seen dropping or budding off smaller objects which could potentially be loitering drones or probes

I find that idea more exciting than car-sized skytrash so hopefully that's what was shot down

Different cultures are going to filter their observations of unexplained phenomena through whatever popular lens they have. Scandinavians probably have high reports of gnome sightings compared to the rest of the world, for example.

This is pretty neat lol. Some of these quotes :prepop: Paraphrasing a little bit since I'm relying on speech-to-text:

quote:

"Russian or Chinese technology... absolutely not."

quote:

"There is absolutely no way on God's earth that these things are terrestrial or belong to a government."

quote:

"You know... life is defined in many different ways. I think it's presumptuous and a bit arrogant for us to believe that there's no other form of life anywhere in the entire universe."

Brennan's comments are interesting as he's being SUPER careful with his wording.

quote:

"That could.. involve some type of activity... that some might say constitutes a different form of life."

We just don't got enough information to really speculate at the moment

If you're inclined to think it's mundane, it's gonna appear mundane, if you think it's spooky/significant then it's gonna appear spooky and significant

The imagination runs wild when there's not a lot to go on (and that's pretty fun, NGL)

It's frustrating but we just gotta hope to get more deets (while recognising we're only likely to get more deets from fundamentally untrustworthy ghouls)

Also likely yes.

When I was researching the Colares flap a few years ago, I was struck by how Brazil definitely has its own UFO culture, complete with their own semi-celebrities, publications, and all the other accoutrements we have in America and the UK. I couldn't really get a good sense of it, what with not speaking Portuguese and having to rely on Google Translate, but it makes me think that such things likely exist in various other parts of the world but are largely impenetrable to us.
