Jessie Ware is back, with a new single for her new album out April 28. Stuart Price is on the boards for this one too

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvB-iPmmIQw

I'm really hoping Jessie does an extended US tour for this album. I was lucky enough to see her perform WYP in New York last October, and that was a magical room

Yeah hoping for a US tour. Was able to see her show at a festival when visiting Europe last year and it was a lot of fun

It's a piece of JUNK!
I think a questionable bootleg of this has been floating around for a few months, but the new Depeche Mode single is officially out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIyrLRixMs8

Album pre-order is also up on their site, it releases next month.

EDIT: And this is a bigger surprise: a previously unreleased Linkin Park song. I guess Meteora's 20th anniversary is coming up.

New Caroline Polachek album just dropped, and my goodness is it ambitious.

Apple Music posted:

Across its 12 songs we get trip-hop, bagpipes, Spanish guitars, psychedelic folk, ’60s reverb, spoken word, breakbeats, a children’s choir, and actual Dido—all anchored by Polachek’s unteachable way around a hook and disregard for low-hanging pop hits. This is imperial-era Caroline Polachek.

I'm reminded of The Most Unwanted Song, except this madwoman made it into an entire pop album that actually slaps.

Wikipedia posted:

The song was designed to incorporate lyrical and musical elements that were annoying to most people. These elements included bagpipes, cowboy music, an opera singer rapping, and a children's choir that urged listeners to go shopping at Walmart.

I'm seeing her in concert in a few months and can't wait. Very envious of the people in London who get to see her perform today.

Listened to it this afternoon and not enough bagpipes IMO. Bagpipes rule.

Oh hey!

It's genuinely magical, feel slightly blessed to have been there. Its fun and beautiful and joyful and a little touching and she had the bagpiper on stage for Blood and Butter, I hope she manages to get them out for you too!

If its any consolation (probably not, I'm envious that you've got this to look forward to and all we've got is lousy Carly Rae Jepsen tomorrow.

I did get to see CRJ on the opening night of her latest tour a few months ago (and was even closer than that picture!), so the symmetry works out fine. :)

Yeah, I could have been closer (and was doe the opener) but I'm short so I ended up moving backwards to take advantage of the sloped section, which only starts like 10 meters back from the stage.

I was honestly getting kinda sick of hearing about Caroline Polachek but upon actually listening to this album, consider me a convert. This is exactly my kind of pop. Great melodies, tons of different styles and textures mashed together, recognizing the importance of both chill tracks and bangers, and mixed with lots of clarity and space. It feels like a breath of fresh air.
