The SCG could justifiably jump ship to the Greens who are offering a £15 minimum wage and so on, bringing tens if not hundreds of thousands of members and hopefully some union support with them. But they won't because, as noted above, they're idiots and cowards.

Top job by the great political minds of the Labour left The CUK's were an absolute joke of a party that wrecked the political careers of everyone involved, but it did deal a decisive blow to Corbyn's Labour as everyone who left to join them didn't come back when Chuka Umunna's band of complete loving idiots burned up on contact with oxygen. Problem is, it's harder to do a suicide run of your political career when there isn't a cushy do nothing job working for a PR firm for some evil dictatorship waiting for you.

Their manifesto in 2019 was pretty drat good and I'd back at least a handful of the SCG to hold their seats under a Green ticket with incumbency bias against a shithouse Labour replacement. Making the Greens a more significant force in terms of numbers, support and crucially funding ahead of the election gives a greater chance of picking up extra seats, too. And they can hold Starmer's feet to the fire more effectively as a coalition partner (or confidence and supply, whatever) than they can from within the party, if it does end up being that close. And if not, just proving that socialist candidates can win outside of Labour would be huge.

The greens were hostile to labour in the 2019 election and also after the fact were very vocal about wanting nothing to do with anybody coming from the labour party post corbyn, I doubt they would be interested in joining forces with former labour left wing MPs.

The Greens lost a huge chunk of their members to Corbyn, leaving the only rightmost behind, so of course they sounded hostile then. It's also kind of the job of Green politicians, to say that people should not vote Labour but Green. But they eagerly accept ex-Labour members into the party, and they have a very democratic constitution, which means that when lefties join (as they did under Blair etc), Green manifestos veer left. Ultimately the problem of Labour is that it has been captured by capitalist interests which have gradually built a mass of institutional blocks preventing democratic control of the party. If a socialist party can be achieved at all, it needs a constitution that prevents that. Labour is past hope in that regard, I think. But we can set a new party up, or more likely set hundreds up and just hope one somehow gets traction in the public mind, or we can move into a democratic party that's right there and already has a large following.

I wonder what would happen if the Tories completly imploded to the point of non recovery, like some of the more outlandish polls are saying (Tories reduced to 40 odd seats, less than the SNP) Would we see a split in the labour party to create a new left and right wing party? we're seeing that everyone who is a millenial or younger is pretty left wing, and partys will have to tack left in the next 20 years or so. (I hate that it's that long)

They'll tack left either 30 seconds before or 30 seconds after collapse and not a second earlier. By now we're coming up on three full generations in the anglo world that have known nothing but neoliberal decline and failure, in 20 years it'll be five or so. Something has to give, but something has had to give for many decades now. Remember that among themselves, tories are always at least mildly surprised when riots don't occur after their latest crime against the people. Hell, I'm Gen X, we bore the first brunt and that was loving intolerable compared to what could have been, god almighty knows how generations following have it. From having my milk snatched and my dad being laid off from British Steel, it's been one kick in the teeth after another, some of them crippling, class sizes increasing, university defunded so that before I left freshers were using the sports hall as a dormitory, graduating into the teeth of the worst recession for ages and the worst graduate recruitment in history to that point, my beloved trains privatised for no loving good goddamn reason, gas, electric, mail, loving water privatised, skyrocketing house prices and a career of dodging cuts and offshoring and GFC hitting just at the wrong time (there would never be a right time), capitalism making GBS threads itself to death every five years or so in once-in-a-lifetime events, and on and on and on and on, death by several million cuts, not a thousand. I wish it had been just a thousand. Plus post-career it went right into Labour collapse, Brexit, covid, inflation, every _____phobia and hate crime under the sun on the rise, and all the rest, including creeping authoritarianism disguised as common sense, the bootlickers just love that. And that's just me, and I've had it good and I've been lucky! Yet I'm forever Harold Lloyd on the girders, one wrong step and it's goodnight. I really do feel for those following. They started off robbed and didn't even know. They would love to have a girder, I bet. It's no comfort to them or you, but I voted for things to be better. I don't smoke but I'll take the blindfold, thanks. Maybe you can grow potatoes.

Everyone else who doesn't eat poo poo proved it was made from pork. From Wiki: Alongside these more refined and elaborate recipes, a simpler form of white pudding was popular in Ireland, Scotland, and some parts of Northern England, combining suet, oatmeal (or barley in Northumberland), seasoning and onions, in sheep's or cow's intestines. In Gaelic-speaking parts of Scotland and Ireland they were referred to by the names marag gheal or putóg bhán.[8]: 883 These oatmeal-based puddings survived into modern Irish and Scottish cuisine, although with significant regional differences. Modern commercially made Scottish white puddings are generally based on oatmeal, onions, and beef suet;[9] the same mixture simply fried in a pan is known as skirlie.
