When does Archie pivot to pivoting between Betty and Veronica? That 50s parody strip was mocking him for having a hard time choosing (because it called them identical) but in this early stuff he almost totally disregards Betty. the bus

Our Boarding House (July 16-18, 1923)   Toonerville Folks (September 16-18, 1920; timg'd not because of the gag itself, but the caption has implications)    As long as we're tracking headlines across the various oldies, the front page story on September 16th was a horsecart bomb exploding on Wall Street. 40 deaths, 143 injuries, and although it was eventually believed to be tied to an Italian anarchist group motivated by the Sacco and Vanzetti case, it remains an unsolved investigation to this day. The man who historians now consider the prime suspect died of old age. Dok's "Teary Farewells (To That Bulging Suitcase)" Duck (August 2, 1914)  The news in Europe gave this story a fairly decent way out. As if that was the big takeaway from that banner headline.
