Not a good film but an entertaining watch. David Harbour is surprisingly good in it.

I wouldn't necessarily get peacock just for Megan but there are a few other cool movies on there to try.
It's fun solid schlock tho, she makes for a fun movie monster. All the coarseness of Chucky with a lot more musicality, creepy ways of movement, and meme dances.

Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

I watched Amsterdam on HBOMax and it was so in love with itself, overstuffed and tonally whiplashing, I think there was a movie in there that I enjoyed and a movie in there that I disliked.

Very good cast though, the leads all had solid chemistry with each other, and I really liked the artwork that Margot Robbie's character made.

Yeah it's ok. I wouldn't subscribe to an entire streaming service for it though.

Peakcock is free with a bunch of ISPs and cell phone plans so make sure to check that out. M3gan is worth a $5 1 month sub though. That's less than renting VOD.

I hated Malignant but thought M3GAN was mostly fine, if still pretty dumb. It’s basically just a Chucky movie with modern popcorn horror tropes.

Yeah it was mostly alright with a couple of funny moments. Definitely did not have the campiness or ridiculousness of Malignant as it's mostly played straight. Boo.

Anyways I got peacock for a month what else is good on it.

Nothing. It's a boring movie that just so happens to have an incredible performance by Cate Blanchett.

Tár was frustrating. It felt like I was constantly being teased with hints of wild stuff happening, but the character of Tár herself is so lovely and myopic that she just glosses over all those important and interesting parts so we don't get to see them. It's like we're seeing her own perspective on her downfall, and it requires her to shave off so much detail that it becomes barely a story at all.

I can recognize that that's an interesting idea, but mostly I was annoyed the whole time.

I never heard of Malignant, so I watched it and it sure was a movie.

Feels like it could be an old movie, but the music was jarring.
I can't tell if the reveal was supposed to be obvious or surprising. I won't watch it again but I'll probably think about it a lot.

I thought Malignant was a movie that really needed to be done with practical effects and clever editing. I probably would have enjoyed it if I felt I needed to watch it a second time to figure out how they made it.

Peacock has surprisingly become one of my most used streaming services on a day-to-day basis. Between the movies Tar, M3GAN etc, original shows like Poker Face, Bel Air and all the Bravo guilty pleasures like Million Dollar Listing, Below Deck and Vanderpump....It gets a lot of use in our household.

Speaking of Bel-Air, Season 2 is off to a good start so far. Very much the same vein of the first but I really like the vibe of the show a lot.

As far as I can tell they all have something to offer and simultaneously feel like ripoff except netflix which is just a ripoff. A smarter person than I would just do one a month to binge and cancel later.

The backwards neo killer running around bits were done by an actor in costume doing exactly that. It was very elaborate choreography!

The prison scene is a pretty good example of how not to make this kind of movie. It's edited so poorly that you can pretty clearly see how each shot is done. Then at some point they just kind of gave up with doing practical effects at all, and the scene just keeps looking worse and worse.

Season 1 is terrible. Seasons 2 and 3 are some of the best Bravo has to offer. It all depends on the cast, and season 1 had a deeply unlikable cast. They get a stellar trio in Chief Stew Daisy, Bosun Gary, and Engineer Colin in seasons 2 and 3, and are all coming back for season 4. Season 2 also had this hilarious recurring storyline with the chef who was perpetually perplexed by eggs.

Yeah I thought Tar was kinda mediocre. It's fine, I guess, kinda boring, very NPR, full of things people associate with "intellectual" yet also a surprisingly basic + stupid movie that essentially has a scene that's "Facebook meme your boomer relative would share". My blackness ate my homework!! I don't know Bach cuz he's CANCELED NOW 😈 all setting her up with a softball for the most tedious insecure liberal bon mots about "free thought"

So Tár was…not what I was expecting. Way too long, slow, and not really that interesting. Her abuse is almost quaint in comparison to Whiplash, but much more realistic. Overall a much weaker film I think. I loving laughed at that end reveal though.
